The team fuels dynamic and impactful brand experiences, story-telling across platforms, and consumer interactions across the Nike ecosystem. We use world-class technology, decades of athlete insights, and skills such as storytelling, content creation, social media engagement, digital marketing, consumer analytics, and more to deliver products and experiences to athletes* around the world.
The Brand Experience department is a core function of Nike Chicago’s marketing team, focusing on serving and engaging with our customers across multiple platforms.
About the role:
As Nike evolves together with our consumers, impactful, purposeful and immersive brand experiences become an indispensable and central component for our marketing efforts.
You will be responsible for elevating and creating compelling experiences for the Chicago consumer through insightful advertising, digital marketing and media planning efforts across various touchpoints.
As a Manager, you will manage one specialist in your team and be responsible for working closely with other stakeholders within the organization as well as territory counterparts in Nike Toronto, North America, and global counterparts at Nike World Headquarters to ensure strategic alignment and maximizing opportunities for impact and efficiencies.
Key responsibilities include:
Brand Communications, Digital Marketing, Media Planning + People Manager.

  • Leading strategic planning and execution of seasonal plans for the function covering advertising, media and digital/social efforts.
  • Writing clear and sharp briefs to creative and media agencies.
  • Leading the relationship with best-in-class creative and media agency partners, ensuring benchmark level work is delivered in a consistent manner while growing and enriching the partnership and relationship.
  • Leading and coaching a specialist, support their development, and set individual goals that link to departmental priorities.
  • Obsessing the consumer journey on Nike owned platforms like @nikechicago Instagram, Apps (Membership), City Pages and Nike.com.
  • Handling budgets and timelines for all projects within scope of responsibility and ensuring benchmark work is delivered on time and on budget.
  • Work with the internal teams like Brand, Retail, PR, Events to elevate physical and digital consumer experiences through insight-driven story telling that results in the delivery of strategic goals.
  • Developing a strong understanding of Chicago’s Gen Z consumers and media consumption habits.
  • Lead new digital thinking for the team. Stay up-to-date with the latest trends/insights and best practices in digital marketing.
  • Engage with Band Experience counterparts in Toronto to share best practices and align on integrated approaches to key seasonal and product stories.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or a related field with a minimum 5 years' related experience working in brand marketing, brand communications, advertising agency or digital marketing organization; 2 additional years' experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 2-3 years’ experience as a manager.
  • Strategic and creative thinker with the ability to bring focus and clear direction to plans.
  • Digital first mindset with a strong knowledge and passion for story-telling, digital/social media best practices.
  • Willing to take risks and push storytelling to new places for the consumer.
  • Knowledge of the Chicago consumer, local culture, creative minds and platforms.
  • Understands and relishes the opportunity to work with a cross functional team.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to lead and direct creative, digital and media agencies.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects on various levels with different and converging timelines.
  • Strong communication, time management and interpersonal skills.
  • Genuine passion for sport and a curiosity to understand the consumer.
  • An individual who is an energizer, a high-level communicator and an excellent team player.
