The Concept Development & Experimentation (CD&E) group supports the local business lines with demonstrations, innovations and technology transfer from research projects conducted in National and International project consortia. A mixture of staff actively contributes to these research projects, ranging from research staff, R&D engineers, visiting researchers, thesis students, and interns. Fixed staff members of the research group combine industrial research positions at Thales with research positions in National academic institutes.

About the assignment

Since this DTN technology has been defined for application in space rather than in vehicle networks on earth, some challenges are associated to its application.

To this end this assignment is about investigating DTN application in vehicle communication systems.

Both systems need to be equipped with an interoperable DTN stack that is able to assure the interoperability between the platforms.

We are looking for students who can:

study the state of art in DTN,

develop a test framework to guarantee DTN stack stability

optimize DTN implementations to operate in a vehicle network,

implement, optimize and evaluate new and existing network routing protocols
