Job Description
The Role
Tesla Inc is seeking a Wireless Test Engineer for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technologies, who has minimum 5 years of design and release responsibility for testing wireless systems. This engineer will be responsible for validating wireless communications in Tesla vehicles.
Responsibilities
- Develop test plans for Wi-Fi/Bluetooth evaluation in vehicle and bench setups.
- Enhance existing Wi-Fi/Bluetooth test automation and data analytics frameworks.
- Perform Wi-Fi performance measurements that include validation and testing of different manufacturer access-points.
- Execution of tests to verify that behavior of Wi-Fi functions conform to specifications
- Document and follow up on bugs found in testing internally and with modem vendors
- Perform data performance test and analysis
- Verification of field related issues and drive closure for the issues.
- Perform IOT on different phones and firmware versions
- Perform Bluetooth performance tests
- Work closely with Antenna and Software engineers to optimize performance
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Expertise in Bluetooth Profiles functional testing for A2DP/AVRCP/HFP/PBAP/MAP/BIP/SPP/HID.
- Experience in Bluetooth Stack/Profile certification.
- Working experience in using tools PTS (certification logs), FTS and Ellisys (Over the Air sniffer)
- Expertise in debugging Bluetooth issues using BT HCI, System and OTA logs (FTS & Ellisys).
- Experience in BT IOT testing with Android/iOS devices
- Experience with test automation frameworks using Python/Shell scripts/Ruby, etc.
- WIFI experience in 802.11 a,b,g,n,ac
- Expertise in BT/WIFI coex testing.
- Expertise in test plan development.
- Experience in WIFI throughput and Range Vs Rate test. Familiarity with tools like Wireshark, iPerf, etc.
- WIFI functional testing for AP/STA mode and IOP testing
- Must possess at least 5 years of experiences in testing wireless technologies
- Must possess knowledge of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi protocol and must be able to analyze test system logs
- Strong knowledge of Bluetooth profiles is desired
- Experience in debugging of real-time embedded solutions with lab test equipment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
