Job Description

Because you belong at Twilio

The Who, What, Why and Where

Twilio SendGrid sends billions of emails every month on behalf of our customers. We’re seeking a Product Manager to drive innovation in this product line by helping our customers see, understand, and improve on how their email communications are performing. This includes owning several of our data-related products and features such as reporting, analytics, and machine-driven insights. You’ll lead a cross-functional team from initial evaluation of ideas through the product development process to deliver products and experiences that our customers love and value.

Who?

We’re looking for a product manager with both business acumen and technical chops. You should be able to interview customers about their pain points, work with revenue projections, and collaborate closely with engineering to bring your products to life.

  • 3-5 years of experience in Product Management, preferably with professional experience on email, data, or analytics products.
  • Customer Focused – You seek deep understanding of your customers and are adept at understanding their problems and arriving at elegant solutions to those problems. You thrive in front of customers, partners, and analysts and use every external interaction to help inform your product decisions.
  • Strategic – You absorb multiple internal and external inputs and use that information to define product strategy and prioritize the problems to solve. You are able to make difficult priority calls based on data and analysis and then communicate those decisions inside and outside of Twilio.
  • Git ‘er Done – You are comfortable serving as a product manager within an Agile environment. You are technical enough to convey problem statements to engineering with credibility and conviction. You are ambitious and drive highly productive outcomes across the cross-functional teams you lead
  • Cross Functional Leader – You pull the right levers cross-functionally to get your products launched and supported. You communicate clearly and crisply. You develop trusting relationships internally and can rally the entire organization to ensure your product achieves intended business outcomes
  • B.S. in Computer Science, MBA, or equivalent professional experience.

What?

As Product Manager, you will:

  • Understand your target customers through interviews, usage data, support tickets and other sources to understand their problems, and validate solutions to their most compelling problems
  • Champion a customer-first and metrics-driven approach to product management
  • Partner with engineering leads to deliver projects via an Agile development process
  • Partner with marketing, customer success, support and sales to launch new capabilities and track their results against Twilio’s business goals
  • Communicate your projects internally to the company, to our customers, and to partners

Why?

The Twilio SendGrid Email Platform sends billions of email messages per month on behalf of our customers, ranging from small startups to companies who are household names. It is also the underpinning of the Twilio SendGrid Email Marketing product. The stats and analytics features of our Email Platform are critical parts of the product, helping customers get up and running, make sure things are working, optimize their sending, and troubleshoot any problems that may arise. As a Product Manager on this team, you will have ownership over some of the most important and innovative parts of the Twilio SendGrid Email Platform.

Twilio is a company that is empowering the world’s developers with modern communication in order to build better applications. Twilio is truly unique; we are a company committed to your growth, your learning, your development, and your entire employee experience. We only win when our employees succeed and we're dedicated to helping you develop your strengths. We invest in weeks dedicated to tackling hard problems and creating your own ideas. We have a cultural foundation built on diversity, inclusion, and innovation and we want you and your ideas to thrive at Twilio.

Where?

This position will be located in our beautiful office at 400 Spectrum Center Dr. in Irvine, CA or 1801 California Street, in Denver, CO. You will enjoy our incredible perks: catered meals, snacks, game room, ergonomic desks, bi-weekly All Hands and more. What you will also get to experience is a company that believes in small teams for maximum impact; that strives to balance work and home life, that understands that this is a marathon, not a sprint; that continuously and purposefully builds an inclusive culture where everyone is able to do and be the best version of themselves. We seek people who naturally demonstrate our values, who are challenged by problems, empower others to thrive, people who can draw the owl and not be beholden to one playbook.
