Job Description
The Senior UX Designer is an expert in user interface and user interface design and has a solid portfolio of work from web and mobile to TV interfaces. This person is responsible for rapid concepts, wireframes, information architectures, user flows, presenting, and making recommendations to the group on any UI/UX across the entire news portfolio in DTCI Technology.
Day-to-day responsibilities include working with design team members, as well as Product and Engineering partners, across our news portfolio on wireframes, sketch concepts, interaction guides, coordinating requirements with stakeholders and partners, and presenting work to executives and partners. Team fit and attitude are as important as design skills.
The ideal candidate for this role is highly creative, able to work with all types of people, engaging, able to work on multiple projects at the same time, and deeply knowledgeable about the latest design trends and technologies.
They can ship groundbreaking V1 products and iterate on existing experiences. They are an expert in user interfaces, graphic design, and style guides and has an amazing portfolio of work across multiple platforms.
Job Description
Responsibilities : - Creating wireframes, IAs, user flows, and interaction guides for any product in our News portfolio (ABC News, OTV, FiveThirtyEight, GMA)
- Presenting to partners, executives, and sponsors
- Working with our X-Brand team members on contributing to our design systems
Basic Qualifications : - Qualified candidates must have at least 5 years of experience designing high-quality wireframes, IAs, user flows, user stories, and related UX/Interaction assets
- Expert understanding of user-centered design principles and UI best practices
- Expert knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite and Sketch
- Self-motivated, problem solver with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong interest in and aptitude for learning new technologies and design skills
- Strong work ethic, reliability, adaptability, works well with others, team player
- Strong presentation skills
- Ability to design within interaction guides and create new guides
- All applicants are required to supply an online portfolio
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with TV UI (Roku, AppleTV, FireTV, AndroidTV)
- Experience with Zeplin, Figma, and other design tools
- Experience working on a product team for a technology company or digital media firm
- Familiarity with the Disney brands and content
- Ability to direct prototypes for user testing
Required Education : - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Interaction Design, HCI, Graphic Design, or equivalent professional experience
