Communications Manager (Ground Transportation)

Reporting to the UK Head of External Communications, the Communications Manager will work within our Ground Transportation business and be responsible for creating and implementing an effective communications strategy aligned to key business priorities.

Our Transport business in the UK is evolving, offering new digital services and with aspirations to break into adjacent markets. Having an ability to develop messages that align to these objectives, build a reputation and help position for business winning is essential.

Active stakeholder management is paramount to the success of this role, so you will need to build and foster productive relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities.

Your key accountabilities

- Build constructive and effective relationships to develop a deep understanding of business needs.

- Devise and implement an external communications strategy that will drive value and have the highest impact

- Routinely review the communications portfolio of activities to ensure delivery and success using outcome-focused metrics

- Work closely with the communications leadership team to identify individual and team opportunities to continuously improve communications delivery across the business

Your skills and experience

- A proven track record of delivering a successful external communications strategy

- The ability to influence and build effective relationships with senior internal stakeholders

- Has a comprehensive understanding of B2B/B2G communications tactics and their appropriate usage

- Ability to identify a story and produce engaging content

- Excellent organisational, planning, project management and time management skills

- Rail industry experience an advantage but not essential

In line with Thales' Baseline Security requirements, candidates will be asked to provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
