Position summary

The Deloitte Encore Program was designed for professionals who have left the workforce for two or more years to return to work. This paid, fourteen-week program offers an opportunity to enhance your skills while providing you a role in a client service environment. A network of Deloitte professionals will be assigned to provide you with relevant training and mentorship, and will help support your professional growth while you gain hands-on experience. You may also have the opportunity to join the team upon successful completion of the program.

The Program will run from end Jan to May 2020. Whether it leads to a full-time career, or serves to sharpen skills that will help you to take the next step into the job market, the Program is a great opportunity to reignite your professional career.

Work you’ll do

Are you a meticulous, inquisitive individual who enjoys coming up with innovative solutions? We provide audit services using an approach designed to provide the flexibility to serve the unique circumstances and complexities of our clients. You'll design and execute audit procedures based on the client’s business, the risks it faces, and its internal control processes. You’ll gain exposure to a broad range of industries and business models, helping your career growth and professional development.

You will interact with clients directly to discuss field audit issues. Not only will you work independently, you’ll also collaborate with a diverse group of dynamic audit professionals. You’ll use our cutting-edge audit tools and technology. Your other responsibilities will include:

• supervising field audit arrangements and assigned staff
• working on the design of the approach to audits
• performing audit procedures related to clients’ financial documents
• bringing to bear artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, data visualizations
• process flow automation to perform data interrogation and analysis of client data

Qualifications

Required

A minimum of *2 years break from employment strongly preferred.

• applicants with lesser than a 2-year break from employment will be considered on a case to case basis
• 3+ years of public accounting or equivalent experience
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills
• Proven leadership skills demonstrating strong judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Experience working in a fast-paced, team environment
• Experience working independently on multiple assignments or engagements
• Up to 100% travel

Preferred

• Advanced degree in accounting or related field
• Experience with a regional or Big 4 accounting firm
