Staff Product Designer
NSX Product Line, Networking & Security Business Unit
VMware NSX R&D team in Pune is looking for a Staff level product designer to help craft the next simplicity level of NSX product experience.
As a designer for NSX platform, you will be designing a platform that will become an enabler to IT transformation. You will help make what used to be a deeply complex infrastructure a simple management process. You will deliver technology that helps our customers build the next generation of IT infrastructure architecture. You will apply your experience and real passion to guide design processes. You own the delivery of the end-to-end experience of this best-in-class network virtualization software platform, from the initial customer research to the specification of user workflows, interactions, and experience. You will collaborate with multi-functional product teams to ensure what we deliver is what our users love. Within the NSX team, you are to operate as a member of a fast-paced start-up with all the perks of a public company.

Responsibilities

• Work with domain experts to shape and refine workflow requirements
• Master the area of enterprise, cloud networking and security from both provider-side and consumption-side perspectives and eventually grow into a subject matter expert
• Design information architecture, user interaction that will revolutionize complex networking workflows to bare simplicity.
• Prototype new design concepts, study feasibility, and work with the team to productize
• Conduct user study, research to help bring the most effective design to users
  

Requirements

• Formal education background in HCI
• Expert in solving real-life complex analytics and/or visualization problems
• Strong visual design and artistic skill
• Highly effective verbal and written communicator
• Enthusiastic about crafting for humans and simplicity
• Able to collaborate effectively with others
• Be a user's advocate
• Use Sketch or the latest modern design tools
• Portfolio of recent work to review with our team is a big plus
