Job Description

HP’s mission in 3D Printing and Digital Manufacturing business is to drive the next industrial revolution by changing how the world designs and manufactures.

HP is pioneering revolutionary new technologies in additive manufacturing that can scale into mass production. We are looking for business development professionals with at least 5 years exposure to production operations, supplier operations, product development and manufacturing disciplines in either consumer goods, footwear or industrial goods (automation, tooling, etc.). By strategically engaging players in the existing ecosystems and value chains, your job will be to help the various players understand the benefits of moving from traditional production approaches to flexible, digital production approaches.

What will be your responsibilities?

  • Align plan for vertical market penetration in region (scope, applications, approach, etc.) in partnership with sales
  • Prioritize applications that are best fit / best value prop with HP technology
  • Establish list of high value customer candidates, thorough combination of leads from sales, personal contacts, networking events, etc.
  • Work collaboratively with sales to prioritize pursuit candidates
  • Pull together pursuit team and build project plan w customer
  • Establish ties and work through workshops w customers to build shared business cases
  • Establish linkages with internal HP orgs to build business case for pursuit based on likely investment & return

What do we expect?

  • Engineering background plastics is a plus, with an MBA ideal
  • 5 years’ experience in customer-facing business development or solution selling role
  • Deep domain knowledge and experience as practitioner in one or more of the following fields: Footwear, Eyewear, or other CPG, Industrial and automation; preferably 5 years or more
  • Deep business acumen; able to effectively assess business impact potential and structure business cases (investment & return) for both HP and customer
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams including Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software, Industrial/Product Design, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Customer Support, Partnerships, and Legal teams
  • Design for additive manufacturing or advanced manufacturing experience is a bonus
  • Excellent communication and business problem solving skills
  • Agile and entrepreneurial growth mindset
  • Ability to lead in a matrix organization
  • Strong team player
  • Fluent English & strong skills in German (fluent - Native)
  • Travel: at least 50%
