Boeing is hiring an Experienced Test Technician who will work as part of the Production Test team on the Space Launch System (SLS), in New Orleans, LA. The Production test team does significant amounts of testing on the propulsion and hydraulic systems ensuring the proper build of the rocket, so leak test experience is a plus. Opportunities exist to also assist in the functional testing of the flight avionics and instrumentation. Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports activities to plan, conduct and document tests on products, systems, components, materials, and manufacturing processes and technologies.
  • Designs systems, materials, components, software and methodologies to meet customer requirements.
  • Participates in test design and performs routine procurement, fabrication and assembly of components, test fixtures and test systems.
  • Supports the coordination of test requirements and assists in reviewing test methods and capabilities.
  • Facilitates systems integration, fabrication and modification; supports system pre-test setup, integration, checkout, and posttest tear-down.
  • Conducts routine tests, analyzes data and documents results.
  • Troubleshoots and recommends resolution of basic laboratory and test-related problems.
  • Works under general supervision.

Variable Shift:

Must be willing to work variable shifts, including weekends and overtime. Some positions may also be rotating shifts.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working in a lab, factory, or other test environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Testing utilizing pneumatic panels.

Typical Education/Experience

Associate and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor, 3 years' related work experience, etc.).
