DT IoT Solutions Development Group Description

The DT IoT Division was formed in 2017 to focus and foster IoT edge opportunities across all the companies under the Dell Technology holdings. It is a 1 Billion dollar investment in edge IoT over three years. This position is working in the development group within this division. You will be working closely with a leader who has over 8 years bringing solutions to market. The Development group charter is to focus on four tasks;

• Develop unique and linked solutions across Dell Technologies BU for the ecosystem and partners
• Assist in development efforts of EdgeX Foundry (a Linux Foundation Open Source initiative)
• Build technical alignment across IoT and Edge Computing efforts across Dell Technologies
• Foster Joint Development agreements with Dell Technologies partners
  

This is a technical organization which is made up mostly of developers and engineering architects focused on IoT (Internet Of Things) and Edge Computing. Development teams are found across the different Business Units. You will be joining a team of exceptional individuals with a thirst to innovate and drive solutions into many have called the fourth industrial revolution. The varies groups within this organization work in small independent fast paced environment on cutting edge technologies

About the position (Core Developer Team Orchestration and Development)

The Dell Technologies Internet of Things Solutions Division is seeking developers who are focused on linking industry leading software (vSphere and Containers), VSAN, NSX and Pulse IoT Manager with X86 servers. You will work in a small team on projects that will rapidly launch solutions in 6-12 months. You will need to have experience in team designs, builds, scales, maintains and supports for solutions that are focused on IoT and use products uses some existing products across Dell Business Units and Open Source Community. You will build IoT solutions that serve specific market verticals. Our team is passionate about what we are creating and is focused on making our customers and partners successful. We're looking for a Lead software engineer who: - is inquisitive and likes to learn - is self-motivated - likes to solve challenging problems and get things done - is collaborative and is a player-coach. They can work with a global team , is respectful and supportive, enjoys Continuous Delivery / DevOps world where we develop our own software and maintain it in production.

Required skills:

• Bachelor or Master of Engineering degree, or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in developing applications
• Demonstrable knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, Node.js, Go Lang, AngularJS, HTML, CSS.
• Experience building RESTful API.
• Python knowledge is a definite plus
• Working knowledge of virtualization technologies including hypervisors, and virtual machines
• Passion for writing great, simple, clean, efficient code
• Familiarity with relational databases and most importantly having the experience or desire to lead

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in working in a small agile environment
• Knowledge of VMware software
• Understanding of video surveillance, analytics, andexperience in developing software with Mega Cloud edge software and storage development
• Experience in IoT (OT and IT development) and experience with open source ExgeX and/or Redfish
