The Senior Director, Technical Product Management for SAP Concur’s Online Booking Tool will lead a team of Technical Product Managers responsible for delivering holistic products to market that can grow and scale with the demands of our global business. You will report to the Vice President, Technical Product Management, Concur Travel, and your team will own the product, deliver on the product vision and strategy, and create and execute roadmaps for products, features, and services with inputs from numerous stakeholders. By balancing both technical and business needs, TPM ensures we deliver full stack quality from the product experience down through architecture, security and stability of our products.

Travel is a key part of SAP Concur’s integrated Travel & Expense value proposition and the business travel industry is evolving at an ever-quicker pace as travel managers strive for reduced costs and elevated, consumer grade end user experiences while suppliers differentiate themselves with new products and services in more markets. The Online Booking Tool needs to do much more than facilitate air and hotel reservations according to travel policy; it must be an extension of our clients’ policies and cultures. Supporting the full range of demands from current and future clients in an environment where travel suppliers constantly evolve requires strategic vision, clear prioritization, and a hunger to act fast.

It is a demanding, exciting role, requiring depth of understanding of technology, communication and collaboration with all parts of SAP Concur’s organization, customer communication, and ultimate accountability to delivery of working software. This is where the rubber meets the road!

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

• Recruit, retain and grow a team of Technical Product Managers.
• Understand how the evolution of the business travel market will create opportunities for the Online Booking Tool and position the Online Booking Tool to deliver durable value to customers.
• Create, own, and communicate the prioritized roadmap of work for the Online Booking Tool that fulfills the product vision and strategy and accounts for engineering realities. Own and define product requirements.
• Enable the successful delivery of initiatives by managing risks, dependencies, stakeholders, and KPIs.
• Partner with your engineering teams to ensure your services are highly reliable, scalable, and secure.
• Influence externally and internally at all levels, secure buy-in, and drive successful execution of complex initiatives across teams and time zones.
• Accountable and empowered for the end-to-end success and health of the product.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Universtiy degree, ideally with a focus on Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, or Information Technology
• Travel industry experience very strongly preferred
• Deep understanding of Enterprise Product Management with 10 years proven industry experience
• Proven experience as a people manager, leading teams of Product Managers/Owners
• Track record of successfully delivering product features against aggressive deadlines
• Ability to interpret and understand software capabilities and architecture with the end goal of supporting the long-term health of the software supporting a customer experience
• Curiosity and ability to recommend the solution to a business problem using different products and technologies
• Fluency in English and German
