Senior Direct/Field Sales Representative

Description

You will be required to work as part of an international team to maintain and

grow Pearson’s Higher Education and English Assessment business in West Africa.

You will be responsible for identifying, developing, managing and growing key

accounts. The role will demand knowledge of Pearson’s Higher Education

portfolio – both print and digital – as well as its English Assessment portfolio with

a focus on PTE Academic.

The role will demand innovation in the way we support and grow our customer

base, as well as in our communication with stakeholders which include colleges,

universities, independent associations, government bodies, and employers. The

successful applicant will be confident communicating and building relationships

with a wide range of people at varies levels. The jobholder will also train and

support partner sales teams on our key product portfolio in line with our go to

market strategy and current business plan.

The role will require frequent travel. Candidates must be resident or have the

right to work in Ghana.

The role will require the jobholder to:

  • Support existing universities, students, and professors effectively;

including delivering training on new and existing products

  • Attract new universities and partners annually
  • Secure progression routes and recognition for learners with local

universities, employers, and other leading bodies

  • Work closely with local distributors and bookshops to ensure Pearson

products are well-represented within the region

  • Manage customers at all levels and develop relationships with key

accounts to identify new opportunities

  • Formulate business and marketing plans
  • Develop relationships to influence key stakeholders including

government and non-government organisations as well as educators to

position Pearson as the preferred provider

  • Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly and yearly targets
  • Apply a customer-centric approach to service and support
  • Design and implementation of key marketing activities and promotions
  • Develop timely and accurate forecasts for assigned accounts and revise

these as appropriate throughout the year

  • Proactively keep up-to-date on industry and customer specific issues
  • Act as an ambassador for Pearson in the region

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Fluent in English
  • IT literate e.g.: Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

-Experience in sales

-Broad knowledge of the education sector and trends that create business opportunities

-Experience of key account management
