Associate Client Manager/Manager - Client Development/Sales Effectiveness Practice - 42142

Client Services and Sales - USA Chicago, Illinois

The selected candidate will be responsible for selling solutions within the functional areas of the Sales Effectiveness Practice including Assortment & Space Optimization, Retail Execution, Revenue Management & Optimization, and Store Operations. He/she will capitalize upon existing relationships within the Nielsen client base and their own established relationships to sell Nielsen. Successful candidates will be highly intelligent and energetic professionals who quickly assesses business situations and acts in an informed, decisive manner to drive required results. Compensation will be directly linked to sales targets/quota.

As client configured solutions are central to Nielsen’s vision and strategy and require cross-departmental collaboration, the SE Sales Role will work across all key Nielsen business areas including; Product Management, Finance, Retail Solutions, Marketing, Solution Architecture, Sales Effectiveness Consulting and Operations, and Innovation.

Externally, the SE Sales role must be flexible and adaptable to work at all levels across all key client functions including; Revenue Management, Sales, Category Management, Brand Management, Information Technology, Marketing and Merchandising. While exceeding revenue and profitability commitments is critical, success will be equally measured by the SE Sales Lead’s accomplishments in building, deepening or expanding long-term consultative partnerships within their client base.

Compensation will be a combination of base salary plus commission. The commission structure will vary based on your quota.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop a clear understanding of Nielsen products and solutions.
  • Drive revenue
  • Work closely and collaborate with a designated Solution Architect throughout sales cycles
  • Develop and execute the Client Solution Blueprint, and Win Strategy
  • Make compelling presentations to a variety of audiences; captures the attention and involvement of the most sophisticated or difficult audiences.
  • Work all deals through the formalized Nielsen Enterprise Sales Process, and properly document the process and status in Salesforce.com
  • Drive deals to successful outcomes across sales phases in a timely manner.
  • Explain the features, benefits, and technical aspects of the full Sales Effectiveness product line while demonstrating expert knowledge of the competitive market.
  • Work consultatively and creatively with clients while maintaining a pragmatic focus on solution profitability.
  • Generate new product ideas and bring the voice of the customer back to product management.
  • Drive high customer satisfaction.

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years of applicable retail or CPG-oriented consultative selling experience
  • Related Industries: Consumer Packaged Goods, Consulting, Information, Sales, Analytics
  • Effective in client level communications, influencing & negotiation
  • Demonstrated skills managing selling cycles from four week to six months in duration
  • Demonstrable understanding of the Challenger Sales Model
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to articulate complex issues in a concise and polished manner to a diverse audience
  • A flexible approach to communication; able to adapt their message quickly to the appropriate level or function with poise and polish
  • Proven consultative selling skills; able to identify and diagnose root client issues versus symptoms and link the diagnosis to Nielsen solutions
  • Working and pragmatic knowledge of various syndicated data offerings; ability to translate data knowledge into tactical and strategic solution frameworks
  • Familiarity with and ability to speak, to all key Nielsen Solutions
  • Willingness to travel up to 40% of the time. Amount of travel will depend on the location of candidate’s residence. Location requirements are flexible.
  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred

A remote work arrangement is available for a well qualified candidate if located close to a major airport.
