The successful candidate will work within the UK and Ireland finance function, supporting the 2nd largest P&L in Nielsen after the United States as a key member of the local FP&A team, working directly with the Finance Director and being part of the FP&A EU organization.
This role is a key asset in the future growth and profitability of the company. This successful candidate will be working closely with the commercial organisation, supporting the Company’s financial quarterly forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, business scorecards and special projects. S/he will provide financial consulting and strategic support to senior management including preparing board presentations, financial presentations and other projects requested by senior management both at UK and EU level. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making.
The role will involve coordinating activities within the UK and Ireland but also with our HQ in Geneva..

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyse current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue and expenditures
• Monitor Performance indicators, highlighting trends & analysing causes
• Oversee and manage Financial planning
• Oversee and manage reporting to our HQ
• Provide ad-hoc reporting and analysis to the Finance Director and Managing Director UK and Ireland
• Provide monthly and quarterly financial reports and scorecards
• Support the local Controllership and Revenue Team during the closing, pacing it and make sure all accruals are properly checked and posted
• Support the local Commercial team with ad hoc requests and with revenue pacing
• Support EU & global process
• Support project work such as the integration of acquisitions and process change management as required
• Support local internal and external audits
• Act as the main point of contact for the FP&A finance function in the market

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Accounting or Finance
• Knowledge of US Gaap
• CIMA qualification optional (preferred but not essential)
• Knowledge of SAP
• Knowledge of Hyperion Finance Management (HFM)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Experience with Shared Service Centres
• Experience with Commercial teams in a highly variable environment and multiple stakeholders
• 5 years + experience in FP&A or similar management reporting position
