This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture, design across all systems
  • Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages: Java, JavaScript, C#, etc.
  • Knowledge of industry wide technology strategies and best practices
  • Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture
  • Development exposure to Java, JavaScript and .Net
  • Experience with Ant, Maven, nAnt, Shell, Perl, Chef, Ansible and Puppet for script automation
  • Subversion, GIT/Stash and Bitbucket administration and deployment skills, training, and experience
  • Knowledge base on WebSphere, .Net, Tomcat Application Servers. Experience with Atlassian tools like Bamboo, Jira, confluence
  • Experience with MSSQL, DB2, mySQL and other databases preferred.
  • Strong Linux and Windows background
  • Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, Automated Functional Testing, Spinnaker, and Deployment Strategies

DevOps Senior Engineer to provide strategic direction and implementation of DevOps practices for CI/CD pipeline and IT operations practices with telemetry, deployment strategies, Kubernetes, Gaia, and Public Cloud.

You’ll apply your past experience with all aspects of technical operations to develop an innovative approach to simplify and streamline processes to increase system scalability and reliability, improve efficiency and minimize errors.

The candidate will establish best practices with the firm to manage and execute software release builds and deployments for Java, Java Script, Mobile applications running on Tomcat, Apache, WebSphere, IIS App, Web Servers, and database updates on different platforms. These deployments will span Development, Certification, QA, Performance and Production environments. As such the candidate will be providing 24 hour daily technical support to all development teams. The candidate is expected to work closely with the development teams who manage UI, middleware, and back-end code. The candidate is also expected provide some extent of Subversion, GIT/Stash & Bitbucket in build automation using Shell, ANT, Maven, Gulp, Jenkins and Perl is a must. Experience using Chef, Puppet, Ansible is desired. Candidate must have through understanding of Software Configuration Management (SCM) and release process and best practices. This position will contribute to a scrum team within the Enterprise and Architecture group to execute on the delivery approach to meet multiple concurrent project delivery needs

Job Responsibilities:
  • Assess, identify, and recommend business and technical DevOps policy and procedures impacted by change resulting from project assignments or day-to-day business process areas priorities.
  • Identify and develop opportunities to improve our processes and tools specifically for Automation.
  • Present and champion change to all level of the organization and build understanding, buy-in and adoption of new ideas.
  • Create, foster and continually develop relationships with a variety of internal clients and partners.
  • Coach and mentor individuals and groups on new concepts, processes and tools.
  • Design and promote brands and brand architecture, develop collateral to support CDO Brand and the needs of the organization as a whole.
  • Adapt incoming collateral to new or existing brand guidelines without losing context or content.
  • Reviews business requirements, process documentation, workflows, project plans and collateral to identify gaps and differences impacting policies and procedures, then design and implement solutions in partnership with project, subject matter expert partners and more specifically DevOps team.
  • Prepare communications in partnership with project teams or subject matter experts and provide writing/editing support to CTO lines of business.
  • Manages day-to-day individual workload and pipeline of procedure and communication requests. Monitoring milestones and critical dates to identify potential jeopardy of schedule and identify / mitigate risk.
  • For on boarding exiting application, performing Knowledge transition from Development team to SCM team on build and deployment process.
  • For New applications, work with development to get the requirements of application build and deployment process.
  • After complete of the scripts development and process setup, build engineer role is expected to execute the builds and deployments to all above environments based on weekly scheduled build calendar.
  • This position is required to perform smoke/sanity tests for the applications deployed and also troubleshoot the application for the issues that arise as part of the smoke test process.
  • This position is expected to learn the architecture of all the applications to help trouble shoot any issues for each applications.
  • This position need to periodically analyze the hardware and software capacities of build infrastructure and provide appropriate recommendation to the Management team for improvements and immediate attention.
  • This position is required to be proficient in Ant, Shell and Per Scripting. Should be familiar with Code Management Tools like GIT/Stash, SVN, AND SCM Process regarding Build, Release and Source Code Management.
