The Postmates Business Development team is looking for an experienced team member to forge and expand our relationships with top Grocery & Convenience brands nationally and drive significant value for the company. As our first grocery-focused Account Executive, you will expand Postmates’ Delivery-as-a-Service footprint in the Grocery, Pharmacy, and Convenience space on a national level.

This is a unique opportunity to design, and be responsible for driving forward important new vertical specific initiatives for this product and the company. The ideal candidate has experience closing deals with national grocery chains and has existing relationships with decision-makers in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and evaluate partnership opportunities based on strategic and financial criteria across Grocery and Convenience brands
  • Develop relationships with potential partners, including presenting the Postmates story to C-level executives at major national Grocery and Retail chains
  • Run the entire deal process, including developing, negotiating and closing agreements with the top prospects
  • Work cross-functionally with our Product, Engineering, Account Management and Sales teams to ensure partners have the best possible experience when joining the Postmates platform

Qualifications

  • 7+ years in sales, account management or business development roles in the grocery and convenience space.
  • Business mindset with ability to understand both financial and strategic aspects of a deal
  • Previous experience with Software-as-a-Service or integration sales and comfort with technical concepts. Ability to work with engineers and product leaders to craft solutions.
  • Comfortable concurrently managing multiple complex transactions on short time horizons
  • C-Level presence with a deal closing history
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • MBA, Consulting or Banking experience a plus but not required
