The Role:

The Reliability Engineer will be a core member of NPD(New product development), In this visible and critical role you will work closely with Design, Engineering, Quality and executive leadership to bring your knowledge to high quality product .

What You’ll Work On:

  • Represent reliability engineering to cross function team (engineering, Ops and quality....)
  • Establish design for reliability for all the new Fitbit products. Including these requirements in the early stages of product development will bring consistency in design and improve, reliability all stages of the product lifecycle.
  • Define product usage model, develop reasonable reliability test spec and increase coverage to detect potential risk at earlier phase
  • Identify and detect product reliability weakness early, and risk assessment
  • Deep dive root cause and faster time to effective corrective actions
  • Write clear, logic and complete reliability report with actionable messages digestible to multiple audiences, Transfer data to information, Transfer information to decision
  • DPPM projection and continuously reduce DPPM overtime. Achieve high quality goal
  • Provide valuable feedback on PRD/Component datasheet / New material selection

Required Skills:

  • Must have 5 or more years of reliability engineering experience
  • Bachelor degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Material Science, Physics or related field
  • Knowledge of accelerated life testing theory and methods (development, planning and execution)
  • Experience in one or more of the following statistical analysis tools: Minitab or JMP or Weibull ++
  • Must be able to work well in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
  • Some travel (about 30% but could be higher at times) to CMs in Asia is expected. This is typically during major events such as EVT, DVT & PVT.
  • Great written and communication skills
  • Nice-to-Have Skills:
  • Influencing others, leading teams to achieve consensus for reliability and product quality decisions
  • Self-starter and creative problem-solver
  • Failure analysis
  • Project management skill
  • Experience with ODM, JDM, or CM models of reliability development.
  • Supplier management skill
  • Lab management
  • Python skill preferred
