Qualifications

Minimum qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial business partnerships within technology, advertising, or media industries or relevant experience in consulting and/or investment banking.
  • Experience in leadership communications.
  • Experience planning and managing at both the strategic and operational level.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA, Master's degree or professional qualification.
  • Experience with, and/or enthusiasm for, SQL and other database, automation, or business intelligence skills.
  • Ability to adapt and work well in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Ability to create and grow effective cross-functional networks and manage without authority.
  • Ability to prioritize and work well at a fast pace while creating space for original thinking and thoughtful analysis to support our executives.
  • Excellent business judgment, time management, analytical, influencing, and communication skills.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.
As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

Business Finance provides financial and analytical support and advice to Google’s Global Business Organization. From understanding market and usage trends to exploring the productivity and return of our various investments, the Business Finance organization is an important partner and independent advisor to the commercial leaders in our company. As Senior Business Finance Analyst for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Global Customer Solutions (GCS), your work will help our leaders make strategic and operational decisions. You will contribute experienced leading and sound business and analytical judgment to help drive and develop performance. You will work on multiple projects simultaneously and focus on the details, while finding creative ways to handle big picture challenges in order to provide management with insightful business recommendations, planning, and reporting support. In this role, you will work with GCS leaders and cross-functional and central teams to help guide the EMEA GCS business over the medium and long-term in relation to market opportunities. You will impact the strategic direction and priorities.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Provide thoughtful leadership; influence executive level decision making through deep analytical insight into core business decisions.
  • Structure and communicate complex, ambiguous, and potentially challenging business issues to advise and challenge the GCS EMEA leadership team.
  • Build an effective network across Sales, Finance, and Product leadership. Build a team of analysts across Sales, Operations, and Finance to handle a wide range of analytical and operational questions.
  • Leverage Google’s big data to drive scalable analysis of business growth drivers and trends. Craft and present sophisticated quantitative analyses to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Serve as an advocate and make resourcing recommendations to drive productivity gains. Develop suitable headcount and operations budgets; ensure that investment is allocated optimally and create the financial discipline to ensure delivery against these budgets.
