Security Systems Internship - Europe

The internship assignment

Tesla Technical Security is responsible for the lifecycle of physical security systems that protect Tesla’s people, places and intellectual property. We develop relationships with internal partners, design and build security systems, grow the security program with industry suppliers and integration partners to perform work, and provide support for business operations after construction is complete. Responsible for the program of systems, we further provide analysis and design improvements to improve the experience for customers and employees, and further reduce security risks.

As Intern, Security Systems Europe , you’ll be directly involved in the business cycle of security design, procurement, installation and operation management. The opportunities are wide-reaching, such as supporting improvements to the business operations of technical security, developing research projects on compliance and emergency response, or helping to design new solutions that may be implemented across hundreds of offices. Technical Security will work with you to design an internship supporting our business needs and aligning with your education and professional goals.

Learning goals & Tasks

· Develop skills and direct experience of the business operations of a globally distributed team, and strategies for effective management of accounting, ordering, scheduling and prioritization.

· Gain experience in communicating effectively and persuasively with different audiences (customers, direct labor staff, regional management, executives).

· Support daily administrative tasks.

· Practice international project coordination through management support of installation and service projects in locales with varying cultures.

· Gain experience in the philosophy and design of security mitigations for the protection of staff, facilities and intellectual property.

· Produce well-researched reports on topics related to the security industry and internal security operations, and be able to defend the conclusions of the reports.

Requirements

· Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in security, system engineering, information science, project management, business, economics.

· Microsoft Excel experience, experience with Office 365 apps favorable (SharePoint, Power BI).

· Must speak and write English at a level acceptable for business communications.

· Any previous experience working with security or security systems is advantageous.
