Zendesk is looking for an Associate of Strategic Events who can support and scale our global speaker management program. Over the past three years, Zendesk has built a strong event portfolio, including a global annual user conference—Zendesk Relate, a global event series—Zendesk Showcase, regional Zendesk Roadshows, and other localized events. The Strategic Events team is small, but mighty, and works closely with our partners in field marketing, sales, product marketing, product, and creative to execute on our event strategy. This role will act as a central function to the team, supporting our Showcase and Relate events across our ecosystem.
Things you will be responsible for:
- Managing all breakout speaker logistics from contract to post-event, including onboarding, rehearsals, travel, and presentation management
- Acting as the main point of contact for all breakout speaker pre-event questions
- Managing break-out speakers on-site from arrival through the presentation (for all US events and potentially some international)
- Building and updating speaker resource center
- Working with content and Product Marketing Management to plan and execute speaker appreciation
- Managing relationships with external AV and venue teams; Ensuring equipment, assets, systems are in line for rehearsals and event day requirements
- Attending Showcase events and Relate to ensure a positive onsite experience for speakers
- Supporting the presentation design team by managing presentation requests. This includes:
- Maintaining strong relationships with executive partners and speakers and managing project intake for the team
- Establishing efficient resourcing plans and working closely with our Presentation Designers to help prioritize their work
- Managing workflows with freelancers and external agencies, providing a scope of work, direction, day-to-day timelines, and stakeholder feedback
- Helping to prioritize and manage additional presentation creation and modification requests
- Following up with speakers on post-event satisfaction
What you bring to the team:
- 1-3 years experience working at a fast-paced organization, B2B SaaS preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask on many projects and many events at one time
- Creativity and confidence to try and test new ideas
- Strong customer service and/or executive interaction experience
- Collaborative, upbeat, and a fast learner; willing to jump into our team’s fast-paced projects and have fun
- Takes initiative on a regular basis
- B.S./B.A. in marketing, communication, or a related field
- Expected travel: 25%
