The Senior Marketing Manager will report to the Regional Marketing Director, EMEA and will be based in London. This role will be responsible for setting the marketing strategy and executing marketing programs for the UK, Ireland, Netherlands and Nordics to drive profitable growth for the region. The Senior Marketing Manager will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including PR/communications, social, online and email marketing, design, community engagement, policy, and country leadership for effective and impactful integrated plans in-market.
Responsibilities:
- Own and champion the marketing strategy for your region and how it supports the overall regional business plan
- A strategic storytelling sensibility, visual and design sensibility, and a deep understanding of our audiences to develop best in class, game changing campaigns that position Airbnb as a leading lifestyle brand
- Develop and execute highly effective integrated marketing campaigns and plans across the region working collaboratively with cross functional partners (growth, product, PR, policy etc..) to ensure an integrated narrative
- Ability to execute large scale integrated brand campaigns as well as small social and product campaigns where you can test and learn quickly
- Lead the management of creative and media agency partners and build capability of local teams to foster best-in-class agency partnerships
- Enable and support localization, ensuring all marketing activities feel local and personal; represent country at European marketing ‘table’, as well as with Global (as required)
- Partner with marketing operations to manage and track marketing budgets and ensure effective budget utilisation
- Conduct and disseminate regular metrics reviews and AARs (after action reviews) on projects including results, lessons learned and best practices
- Work with HQ, finance and operations on budget forecasting and actualizing; ensuring timely SOWs and contracts with partners at all times; provide regular activity updates and reconciliations
Requirements:
- Passion for all things Airbnb. Traveling on Airbnb is a must, experience hosting on the site is a huge plus
- 10+ years of relevant work experience at marketing agencies or client-side marketing, with preference for at least 2 years in Marketing on the client side in the consumer internet space of travel, design, technology, or lifestyle brands
- Fluent (professional) written and oral English. One other European language preferred
- Strong understanding of the UK marketing and working across EMEA
- An integrated marketing mindset, passion for creative excellence in storytelling through multiple media types, both visual and written, with solid experience in brand and creative strategy, off- and online media, including social, SEO, SEM, measurement & analytics, project / campaign and agency management
- Commitment to high creative standards and pushing for constant innovation.
- Experience working cross functionally with product and growth teams to create integrated marketing programs.
- Strong budget and project management skills, attention to detail and communication
- Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust to changes in priorities, and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives
- Experience managing / influencing individuals and agencies, building teams / networks, and communicating across national boundaries
