Job Description
Groupon’s mission is to become the daily habit in local commerce and fulfil our purpose of building strong communities through thriving small businesses by connecting people to a vibrant, global marketplace for local services, experiences and goods. In the process, we’re positively impacting the lives of millions of customers and merchants globally. Even with thousands of employees spread across multiple continents, we still maintain a culture that inspires innovation, rewards risk-taking and celebrates success
We know sales is the backbone of business. That's why training our teams is a top priority. Our sales teams focus on building partnerships with Groupon merchants, and we spend our days showing them how. We endeavour to provide both sales training and professional sales development. Our trainers teach core selling principles in our GroupOnboarding Program (GOB) and then accelerate the professional training of our teams. We know what makes a phenomenal sales person and we provide our teams with the resources to becoming one.
You will provide new-hire training and ongoing upskilling to the sales team, including the development and delivery of sales-related content as well as providing ongoing support of the sales organisation. In addition to training on our core sales process and psychology, our Trainers are often at the forefront of new product launches and organisational changes, helping our teams flex and grow their process to meet business changes. Comfortable leading group and individual sessions, they are dynamic and knowledgeable coaches that provide a true support system for our sales representatives.
About the role:
- New hire induction, training and introduction to the business to ensure all new Groupies have a smooth and comprehensible on-boarding experience and intro to Groupon
- Supporting Sales Graduates throughout classroom incubation (First 1-3 months) prior to quarterly rotations, in partnership with sales managers
- Experienced in conducting training needs analysis, you will be able to collaborate with HR and business leaders to identify gaps and structure solutions with success measures
- As an expert at instructional design, effectively build new and improved content and deliver training materials for Groupon's sales organisation in both initial and continued-learning environments
- Able to provide development summaries to managers on new recruits to support 90-day on-the-job onboarding plans
- You will be expected to work effectively by taking initiative in project management, remaining open to feedback and excelling in group collaboration
- You will act as a liaison to other areas of the organisation when new process or products are being developed and rolled out
- Effectively engage your audience as a dynamic and interactive presenter
- Provide one-on-one coaching across the sales teams, acting as an available resource and guide
- Knowledge sharing with peers globally to consume and share best practice
We're excited if you have:
- Prior years in a sales training role or hands-on sales experience with a passion for coaching & upskilling teams
- Background in talent development including leadership development
- Experience in instructional design highly desirable
- You excel with public speaking and thrive in situations where you're delivering new ideas
- You have an uncanny ability to focus in a whirlwind of change, even if that includes the occasional karaoke challenge
- You're an effective communicator and can diffuse even high-tension situations with ease
- You have a passion for training and the learning environments that you create; you're committed to the success of others
- You're a natural leader, and you thrive in a team environment
- You're a bright, critical thinker; you can make complex things simple
- You're not afraid to fail, and you're always looking for ways to improve
- You have the emotional intelligence to read-the-room and identify when training is not landing with an individual
- You deliver feedback directly with a high degree of maturity and professionalism
- You have interest and/or experience in data analytics, the tracking of success behind what happens in the classrooms
What's in it for you?
- Experience working for one of the fastest growing ecommerce companies in the world
- Free Groupon credits and staff discounts (on top of discounts!) on deals
- Birthday Leave
- Volunteering / Community Days off to support your favourite cause
- Weekly Friday night drinks & recognition awards
- Work in our awesome break-out areas, a relaxed and fun culture - and we tend to dress that way too!
- Interested? We'd love to hear from you!
