Mission

The SA Manager will lead a team of exceptional Solution Architects. As you will help to spearhead our expansion, the ideal candidate is one who has built and led technical pre-sales teams in the Enterprise Software, Big Data/Analytics or Data Science and has a strong track record of partnering with the sales organization to close revenue. You'll rapidly scale and maintain a world-class field-engineering organization in the designated region/segment that is both highly effective and highly efficient in its operations in order to help accelerate Databricks’ growth in the market. You thrive in a high growth startup environment with constant change and are excited to be part of expanding Databricks mission.

• Hire, train, and grow a team of Solutions Architects for a company in high growth mode.
• Crush your region’s sales target - by making sure your SA team knows how to qualify accounts especially from a technical perspective, identify key use cases, plan and execute on POCs, and establish themselves as trusted advisors.
• Make your customers extremely successful with Databricks to deliver high value to their businesses.
• Establish cross functional relationships across the org to make your customers and team successful.

Competencies

• 5+ years of experience in the data analytics space for a deeply technical product (i.e. data warehousing, big data, and machine learning)
• Proven Trusted Advisor to technical executives that drive strategic data infrastructure decisions.
• Lead a team through best practices for technical qualification, POC’s, whiteboard architecture discussions, and product demonstrations.
• Track record of presales leadership - building out a territory, upselling strategic accounts, and exceeding annual quota.
• Experience hiring top talent and ramping them up to be successful.
• Strong leadership skills - create a positive morale for the team and help foster a strong working relationship between the field engineering and direct sales team.
• Team player that will work well with other teams (Sales, PM, CS)
