    Responsibilities

    Purpose of Position: Implement organizational commercialization partnering efforts and strategies as set by the Director of Strategic Partnerships. Execute institutional, programmatic and departmental commercialization plans, primarily through external outreach via partnering shows, targeted marketing campaigns, and industry site visits. Partner with the Technology Management Team, as well as other internal Fred Hutch departments, in expanding capacity to analyze and provide asset-specific research development pathways and market-entry assessments, generate partnering opportunities, and build Fred Hutch brand into the external industry and venture capital sectors, with the goal of driving translation of Fred Hutch technologies to commercial products.

    Required Skills: Demonstrated strategic thinking and execution skills within a team and matrix environment. Ability to work both within teams and as an individual. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Superior organizational ability, with expert knowledge and experience to assume professional, organizational and educational responsibilities. Demonstrated skills in negotiations, business development and relationship management. Understanding of the scientific community and its regulatory environment. Experience in domestic business development.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • PhD in Science or related discipline
    • 2 years' work experience, primarily in biotechnology/pharma, Business Development, or Technology Management
    • Experience developing and managing relationships
    • Experience developing strategy and leading execution
    • Must be able to travel up to 20% of time

    Preferred:

    • Biomedical, pharmaceutical, or life sciences experience
    • Advanced Business degree
    • Experience working in an academic or non-profit organization
