What You'll Do

The Cisco Security Growth Team, part of Cisco’s Security Business Group (SBG), is responsible for maximizing the growth of our products and solutions across geographies and partners. You will be part of the MSSP team. Managed Security Services is a $20 billion TAM. In this role, you will help our service provider partners (MSPs, MSSPs, IT Service Providers, ISPs, VARs, etc.) deliver Cisco’s world-class security products to their customers. You will work closely with the product teams, field stakeholders and critical partners.

We help provide field input and direction into engineering, and drive product knowledge out to the field. We help our sales force, partners, and customers stay up to date on the latest product enhancements, as well as understand the value, and unique architectural advantages that come with the most complete and advanced security portfolio in the industry.

The MSSP Technical Solution Architect (TSA) role provides a highly motivated individual an opportunity to lead and design solutions for service provider partners. The MSSP TSA is responsible for developing innovative cross-architecture solutions by utilizing the leading-edge Cisco technology solutions in the high growth MSSP market. This individual possesses technical expertise to design complex solutions to stay ahead of the competition and support new ideas. The MSSP TSA serves a trusted advisor to Cisco product teams, field stakeholders, partners, and end customers.

Who You'll Work With

You will be part of the MSSP Product Management team working within SBG, and engaging regularly with product managers and engineers, as well as field sales engineers and architects.

The MSSP TSA’s role is positioning, architecting and delivering service provider solutions around Cisco's security and related technologies and integrating them into an overall architecture and design.

The MSSP TSA has the following major responsibilities:

  • Work closely with SBG product teams, engineers and field SEs to evaluate the viability of Cisco products for the MSSP and integrate products into solution plays, driving systems integration and implementation approaches including the identification and integration of third party products and services into a cohesive solution design.
  • Provide deep technical expertise on Cisco technologies, while also being able to build and communicate the architectural context and big picture solution.
  • Lead testing and documentation of solutions.
  • Explain technical issues and present information in a concise manner to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Evaluate and present alternative solutions, effectively influencing outcomes.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant subject is expected
  • CCIE level knowledge in routing and switching technologies
  • 10+ years of end to end network experience is expected in a number of different roles with clearly demonstrable experience of multi-vendor, multi-technology solutions and strong technical consulting
  • Qualified candidates must possess expertise in various infrastructure technology areas, which includes LAN/WLAN/WAN, Collaboration, Cloud, Data Center, Mobility (Packet Core), security and Service Provider environments
  • Ability to provide detailed and consumable documentation around best practices for deployment
  • Act as the delivery lead and provide guidance to project management and engaged consultants
  • Ability to explain technical issues and present information in a concise manner to both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Troubleshooting ability to identify root cause from technical issues
  • Preference for someone that has demonstrated work experience in (or with) a service provider environment.
  • CISSP or equivalent certification preferred
