As Director of Human Resources of the Atlanta Community Operations Center, you will be the key HR site leader, responsible for driving people and business initiatives for the Atlanta location and the key liaison for all business stakeholders on site as well as stakeholders based at HQ (SF). It will be your role to create and execute on Community Operations and Policy initiatives that will drive results for Instacart. This will require you to communicate effectively, think creatively, provide and leverage data to drive strategy, challenge convention, and in some cases to reinvent how work is done. It will require you to roll up your sleeves and dig in.

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for implementing and managing Human Resource policies and programs in the areas of recruitment, employment, employee relations, and equal opportunity employment in compliance with government regulations and Company goals. Oversees all required HR record keeping, including government filings and other essential employee record retention requirements. Oversees audits of employee data as well as associated policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable Federal and State law. Ensures the strategic direction, planning, and implementation of all initiatives within the team such as establishing the annual operating plan, budget guidelines, staffing plans, expense planning and monitoring and resource plans are completed.

Your day to day...

  • Ensure legal compliance with all applicable local state and federal employment laws, including but not limited to FLSA, FMLA and ADAAA to minimize risk/exposure to the company
  • Defines policies, procedures and processes for all Community Operations Center functions. Ensures all processes are well documented and roles and responsibilities are well defined
  • Drives policy review, rigor and enforcement across site and stakeholders
  • Being an advocate and resource for Instacart employees
  • Coaching and advising managers on all people-related matters
  • Offering thought leadership and providing HR expertise in areas such as performance management, employee relations, rewards and recognition, compensation and job leveling, organizational development and learning and development
  • Collecting and analyzing employee data to identify trends, recognizing areas for improvement and providing proactive solutions
  • Collaborating with client groups and the broader HR & PeopleOps teams to create and execute initiatives and overall process improvements to drive results for Instacart
  • Working to ensure compliance with all relevant employer regulations in partnership with the legal department
  • Championing Instacart’s company culture, using company values to guide decision-making
  • Building effective relationships with all internal stakeholders, providing top notch customer service to employees, managers, and leadership

You have...

  • A background of at least five (5) years as a Human Resource Management/Leadership ideally in a fast-growing company and ten (10) years of overall HR work experience
  • Strong influencing skills, ability to communicate effectively across all levels of an organization
  • A successful track record of designing and implementing people programs and policies with a focus on scaling, streamlining and optimizing
  • Demonstrable experience in workforce planning and forecasting, and implementation
  • Understanding of various employment laws and their impact on day-to-day matters
  • Self-starter who can adapt to the needs of our ever-changing, fast-growing organization
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or Organizational Behavior or related field Master’s Degree Preferred or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience in the HR function in a call center environment
