SUMMARY
Hulu’s Finance team is seeking a Senior Content AP Accountant who will be an exceptional addition to our Finance team. As the Senior Content AP Accountant at Hulu, you will provide best in class service to our content partners. The right person for this role is someone who has strong leadership skills, attention to detail, is proactive, self-directed, and sets a high bar for him/herself and their work product. WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Become an expert in our Accounting system and manage all aspects related to the content payment process
- Work closely and collaboratively with numerous teams, including: content coordinators, creatives, agents, business affairs and content accounting
- Proactively review and evaluate the contractual financial obligations of agreements and deal memos for above-the-line talent
- Own the content supplier set-up process (both internally and externally with talent and payroll companies) by managing the delivery of all key documentation and forms to ensure setups and payments are done in a timely fashion
- Track and confirm milestones for development and production deals
- Prepare time cards for above-the-line talent and facilitate timely and accurate payments through both payroll companies and Hulu entities
- Review, upload and route content invoices for approval in ERP system
- Coordinate and execute daily payment runs
- Maintain complete organization of payments within a cloud-based drive
- Act as internal and external point-of-contact for all content payment related inquiries
- Identify process improvements and lead the creation and maintenance of process documentation
- Assist with annual external audits, providing all requested support
WHAT TO BRING
- Bachelor’s degree with a major or emphasis in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 4-6 years of work experience in an Accounts Payable role, with at least 2 of those years in an entertainment or production studio or similar industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented mindset and a high sense of urgency
- Must be team oriented with a positive attitude to fit our culture
- Basic understanding of accounting with a general debits and credits knowledge preferred
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft business suite specifically Excel and Outlook preferred
- ERP systems experience - experience with Workday Financials or other cloud-based ERP systems
NICE-TO-HAVES
- Experience working with Workday not required but a huge plus
- Experience in production payroll, business affairs, legal or contract administration at a major studio or any other experience in a supporting operational line of business.
- Understanding of the payroll process and above-the-line union labor agreements (DGA, WGA, SAG-AFTRA)
