What you’ll be doing

We need an experienced and successful Senior/Staff Product Manager to lead an exciting new project at Tableau. Tableau helps people see and understand data, and you will help customers identity, monitor, and understand the important numbers (KPIs) that drive their business. Whether at a desk or on a mobile device, you will connect customers to the information they need to make great data-driven decisions.

As an ideal fit for this role, you are a creative entrepreneur with demonstrated ability to lead combined dev and UX teams doing full-stack software development. You relentlessly seek the best customer outcomes and synthesize complex information from a wide variety of customers, team members, and stakeholders to create simple clear delivery plans.

The successful candidate will have prior experience in product management roles and a track record of creating and delivering amazing products and experiences across mobile and web.

Some of the things you’ll be doing include...

• Define product strategy and roadmap
• Research customer needs and market developments
• Deliver a multi-year vision with prioritized features and corresponding justification.
• Partner with your colleagues in Product Management across Tableau to implement the vision collaboratively
• Perform competitive analysis and identify points of differentiation
• Develop a beta testing and feedback program
• Engage with customers as a Tableau trusted advisor to ensure their success, manage escalations, requirements analysis and product planning activities
• Present Tableau product capabilities, vision, value propositions, and roadmap briefings to customers, prospects, the Tableau sales team, and at other public events

Who you are...

• Experienced . 5+ years of experience in commercial software product management
• Domain Expert . Knowledge of the web and mobile space, platforms, devices, and surrounding ecosystem of technologies.
• Problem Solver . You love tackling the most difficult of challenges and know how to get to the best solution.
• Design Minded . You have experience with front-end technologies, and are passionate about building a delightful user experience
• Communicator. You have excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Results­-oriented . You love the doing and the process, but you are all about results. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage expectations and customer demands
• Great with Customers . You have an ability to establish great rapport with people. And you have a track record working with customers
• Energetic and Creative . Energy and enthusiasm are your hallmarks. You think out of the box and love the creative process.
• Education . BA/BS degree; MBA from a top tier school is a plus
