Work you’ll do

Required capabilities include:
  • Develop systems engineering, documentation (e.g., Systems Engineering Management Plans; Initial Capabilities Documents (ICD), Requirements Specifications, and Interface Control Documents (ICD).
  • Develop and analyze system requirements and derived requirements to ensure the delivery of production systems that are compatible with the defined systems architecture(s).
  • Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, and testing of all components of complex hardware/software systems to include requirements elicitation, analysis and functional allocation, conducting systems requirements reviews, developing concepts of operation and interface standards, developing system architectures, and performing technical/non-technical assessment and management as well as end-to-end flow analysis
  • Manage user and mission requirements ensuring accurate documentation, thorough evaluation and complete traceability from inception through closure.
  • Knowledge and experience in Enterprise Architecture principles and methodologies. Develop operational view, technical standards view, and system and services view for architectures using applicable DoDAF standards.
  • Participate in Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) efforts, recommend a preferred solution based on selection criteria adjusted for reasonableness and validity of assumptions, technology limitations, environmental impact, and life-cycle costs.
  • Participate in Integrated Product Team (IPT) workshops/meetings to create new processes, design new capabilities and alternatives that consider life-cycle cost, reuse, complexity, risk, system expansion and growth.
  • Create solution models to validate, simulations, and prototyping to mitigate risk and reduce cost of system development.
  • Ensure effective, periodic review and control of evolving configuration of a system (both hardware and software components) and associated documentation during the life of the system.
  • Participate and coordinate Configuration Management activities and Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings. Tracking all Request for Change (RFCs) impacting system and component Configuration Items (CIs).
  • Identify and evaluate the relevancy of COTS and GOTS to satisfy user, mission and system needs.
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements that describe in detail the function that a system component must fulfill, and ensure these requirements are complete, correct, unique, unambiguous, realizable and verifiable.
  • Derive from the system requirements an understanding of stakeholder’s needs, functions that may be logically inferred and implied as essential to system effectiveness.
  • Develop alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
  • Participate in interface definition, design, and change to the system configurations between affected groups and individuals throughout the life cycle.
  • Derive lower-level requirements from higher-level allocated requirements that describe in detail the function that a system component must fulfill, and ensure these requirements are complete, stakeholder’s needs, functions that may be logically inferred and implied as essential to system effectiveness.
  • Develop alternative system concepts, physical architectures, and design solutions.
  • Define the methods, processes and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, components, and work products are verified (i.e., tested) against their requirements in a written plan.
  • Assist in developing system design solutions that satisfy the system requirements and fulfills the functional analysis .
  • Manage/Assist with developing derived requirements for Information Assurance Services (Confidentiality, Integrity, Non repudiation, and Availability); Basis Information Assurance Mechanisms (e.g., Identification, Authentication, Access Control, Account Control, Accountability); and Security Mechanism Technology (Passwords, Discretionary Access Control,
  • Review, analyze and provide input to Program and Contract Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Work Packages, and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS). Mechanisms (e.g., Identification, Authentication, Access Control, Account Control, Accountability); and Security Mechanism Technology (Passwords, Discretionary Access Control, Mandatory Access Control, Key Management, etc.).
  • Define the methods, processes and evaluation criteria by which the systems, subsystems, components, and work products are verified (i.e., tested) against their requirements in a written plan.
  • Assist in developing system design solutions that satisfy the system requirements and fulfills the functional analysis.
  • Manage/Assist with developing derived requirements for Information Assurance Services (Confidentiality, Integrity, Non repudiation, and Availability); Basis Information Assurance
  • Review, analyze and provide input to Program and Contract Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Work Packages, and Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).

Systems Engineering

Our Systems Engineering team delivers large-scale software applications and integrated systems, and assists clients with architecture design, assessment and optimization, and definition. We develop service-oriented architecture (SOA) and other integration solutions to enable information sharing and management between business partners and disparate processes and systems, and we deliver technology enablement to support CIO services transformation.

Systems Engineering professionals focus on key client issues that impact the core business by maximizing operational value, driving down the cost of quality, and enhancing technology innovation. Our teams deliver a wide range of services, including application architecture design and optimization, application modernization, business process management and solution integration, custom application design and development, and large-scale technology delivery program efforts.

Qualifications

Required skills:
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in DoD and IC Mission Systems.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline form an accredited college or university is required. Desired skills:
  • Minimum of 2+ years of technology consulting or other relevant industry experience.
  • Model-based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience highly desirable, as is SysML, Magicdraw, and/or Cameo Systems Modeler knowledge.

U.S. Citizenship is required as is an active Public Trust and/or Secret (and higher) Security Clearance.
