Strategy & Planning Analyst - Travel

Job Description

Our Strategy & Planning team is responsible for the strategic direction and tactical direction to create an optimal pipeline with a focus on revenue optimization, sales force effectiveness and product integration. The focus for the team is improving performance throughout the value chain from front-line sales from merchant partners to the end customer.

We’re currently on the look-out for a Strategy Planning Analyst to support our Travel sales teams with value-add analytics, driving strategic sales initiatives, and optimising merchandising.

Our Travel team create packages that delight both hoteliers, big and small, working with large hotel chains to boutique Bed & Breakfasts, crafting campaigns to delight our customers, and to fulfil our mission is to be the daily habit for customers to visit new destinations, celebrate new experiences, and enjoy travel.

You’ll partner with various internal departments to define the strategic vision for our Travel vertical, and implement that strategy through deal pipeline management.

You’re bright with a brilliant and curious mind with a deep understanding and ability to take concepts from ideas to implementation. Your high energy and collaborative style and ability to manage and influence different stakeholders at all levels will be critical to your success.

A bit about the role

• Strategic analysis into specific verticals to provide insights to the Travel sales team
• Work closely with Travel sales teams to optimise deal structures and inventory management
• Support the effective roll-out of strategic and technological updates relating to the sales, strategy and planning functions
• Collect, analyse, and evaluate data to track performance and developments
• Synthesize raw data into digestible and actionable recommendations
• Assist in the creation of dashboards to measure performance along a number of different financial, strategic, and competitive dimensions
• Facilitation of knowledge sharing across the Sales Strategy & Planning team and the broader business
• Generate reporting to track progress of sales, strategy and planning teams on key business initiatives
• Review & approval of campaigns to feature on the website
• Planning and scheduling deal features using Salesforce

About you

• Prior experience within management consulting, internal strategy or planning analyst within the travel industry
• Experience working with and influencing decision-makers and executive leadership
• You get excited by working with data, measuring performance, and making objective decisions based on quantitative and/or deductive reasoning
• Meticulous attention to detail with a proven track record of delivering results while juggling multiple projects
• Strategic and creative thinking with keen business judgment, focus, and ability to see the "big picture"
• You have an uncanny ability to focus in a whirlwind of change, even if that includes the occasional karaoke challenge
