Summary

The Strategy & Operations group for Yelp’s Restaurant Marketplaces unit drives strategic planning, operational improvements, and key analyses to deliver operational excellence and rapid growth to the Restaurants business, including Yelp’s Waitlist, Reservations, and Connect SaaS products. Strategy & Operations members partner with teams across Sales, Customer Success, Marketing, Product, and Engineering, as well as Restaurants senior leadership, to develop and implement strategic initiatives; set goals and establish reporting; optimize systems and processes; and provide key analytical insights to enable the Restaurants unit to maximize financial performance and restaurant client and diner growth.
As an Analyst on our lean Strategy & Operations team, you will be a vital analytical partner to teams across our Restaurants business unit. You will conduct analyses using our vast data to assess business performance and uncover insights that drive decision-making; create and maintain dashboards reporting on KPIs; establish self-service data access solutions for internal stakeholders; and provide ad hoc data and operational support to our Customer Success and Sales teams.
Yelp’s Restaurant Marketplaces unit is rapidly scaling, and you should be comfortable working in a high-growth, constantly changing environment where you can make an immediate impact. This role is full-time and located in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide first rate analytic support across the Restaurant Marketplaces business unit, leveraging Excel, SQL, Tableau and other tools as necessary (Salesforce, Python, Google Analytics)
  • Develop automated, sustainable, and usable solutions for self-service data access for internal stakeholders and high-importance customers
  • Interface with other departments to ensure data integrity and consistency
  • First month: Understanding Yelp’s Restaurants products, operations, data, and team
  • Second month: Utilizing SQL and maintaining Tableau dashboards while building understanding of Yelp’s broader data ecosystem
  • Third month: Collaborating with stakeholders on analytical project requirements; Performing analyses and creating dashboards that provide visibility into KPIs and business trends/drivers;
  • Beyond: Using advanced analytics to uncover key business insights and guide strategy

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years relevant business experience solving analytical problems using quantitative approaches
  • Quantitative undergraduate degree preferred
  • Superior hands-on analytical skills and expertise in Excel
  • Experience with (or ability to quickly learn) analytical tools including: SQL, Salesforce, Tableau, Google Analytics, Python. Expert abilities in one or more of these is a big plus
  • Coding experience and/or understanding of agile software development principles a plus
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize multiple projects/stakeholders, and maintain an organized project list
  • Excellent team player who is comfortable working in a high-growth, constantly changing environment
