Bariatric Program Manager

Job Summary:

Coordicates the continuum of care process for the patients in the Bariatric Surgery Program. Duties include fostering a strong partnership between the facility and the program physicians to create a successful and comprehensive hospital-based Bariatric program with joint goals.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Plans, develops, and implements the processes of the Bariatric Program.
2. Acts as a resource person to the staff and a liaison to patients and their families as well as other unit personnel and medical staff.
3. Functions as a physician liaison, establishing and maintaining communications with the physicians and surgeons to promote cooperation and coordination in achieving desired outcomes.
4. Provides Healthline with essential information regarding program details.
5. Collaborates with Community Education for planning, scheduling and facilitating community lectures and support groups.
6. Collaborates closely with financial staff on the insurance approval process to ensure appropriate reimbursement for each patient.
7. Uses statistical and database management programs to analyze data and prepare summary narrative reports, graphs, tables, charts and illusttrations.
8. Facilitates the process to assure quality support groups are available to participants.

Competencies:
• Must utilize one or more Cerner applications to deliver and track patient care.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:

REQUIRED for the position:
• Must be a licensed healthcare worker
• 1-2 years of relevant clinical and management/leadership experience.
• Working knowledge of medical insurances and various health plans.

DESIRED for the position:
• Degree in Business, Administration, or healthcare field
• Experience with Bariatric surgery programs
