About the team

We are responsible for all aspects of candidate and employee experience across eBay. We drive business performance, recruiting, learning and development, compensation, benefits, people experience shared services, and people tools and technologies – and oversee the continuing evolution of the company's culture.

The Recruiting organisation at eBay is a fast-paced, highly motivated team of professionals focused on finding the best talent in the world to help drive the business performance, while delivering a best in class candidate experience.

We are seeking an experienced Recruiter to partner closely with some highly strategic areas of the eBay business, which include Core Product and Technology, Global Growth, Functions and Payments.

Joining an experienced and dedicated team, the role will have responsibility for hiring all professional roles up to Senior Director. You will be a Strategic Talent Advisor to senior business leaders on the end to end hiring process for some of the most critical positions across EMEA as the business enters a new phase of growth.

You will also contribute to eBay’s brand presence and identify ways of eBay becoming an employer of choice. The Recruiter will also build innovative approaches to recruiting and make recommendations to improve our ability to attract top talent via new technologies, partnerships and events whilst collaborating across HR and with the business.

This is a contract position based in our offices in Richmond.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and partner with hiring managers and People Business Partners to understand hiring requirements; complete the talent request briefing/intake sessions, setting realistic expectations and education on the hiring process at eBay.
  • You will be responsible for effectively articulating business objectives, challenges and overall strategy to potential candidates and sources.
  • Partner with the VP’s of the various businesses units supported to fully understand the strategic direction and build talent communities aligned to key priorities and objectives.
  • Manage hiring activities of assigned requisitions, delivering an efficient and effective service to the business, ensuring that all coordinate elements and logistics are communicated and managed correctly.
  • Partner internally to develop a brand strategy over an extended period of time
  • Monitor and ensure 100% compliance of hiring process activities including compliance checks where applicable, and work closely with the VIP Executive Assistant to ensure all activities are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing team to generate potential candidates through a range of channels utilizing the most effective and cost-efficient methods available.
  • Conduct thorough assessment activities as appropriate to eBay hiring standards and role specific requirements, and present a recommended shortlist of the most suitable candidates for consideration.
  • Prepare, present and negotiate job offers in a timely and efficient manner in partnership with eBay Inc. compensation and benefits team as appropriate.
  • Represent the Recruiting team positively in relationships and communication with the broader People team
  • Actively participate in Recruiting related projects as required and contribute to the development of annual planning, budgeting & strategy development.

Job requirements

  • Extensive experience and passion hiring at the mid - executive level ideally within the technology, ecommerce and retail sectors.
  • Experience of identifying improvements to ways of working and implementing new innovative recruiting methodologies. Track record in building talent pipelines aligned to key business priorities is critical.
  • A dedicated and advisory mind-set which holds hiring managers accountable to recruiting decisions.
  • Experienced at being an integral part of the assessment process whose opinion is looked for by senior partners across the business.
  • Proven record of building and managing relationships with internal and external customers including business partners, users, vendors, project teams and management
  • Broad organizational knowledge of Talent systems, legislative regulations and labour market trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to manage and handle multiple tasks of an urgent nature, while ensuring a professional level of tact and diplomacy with all levels of management.
  • Accomplished written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate and deal with all levels in the organization in a clear, timely and effective manner.
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new knowledge related to systems and processes.
  • Customer-focused with ability to positively champion eBay and the Recruiting organization internally and externally.
  • Resilient and self-confident with the ability to think on your feet while under pressure.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years in Recruiting
  • Experience preferably gained within a technical, commerce or product business.
  • Experience using a hiring applicant tracking system, ideally Workday.
  • Search firm and in-house recruiting experience ideally preferred.
  • Deep & broad Talent Acquisition experience and understanding.
