Central Operations, Operations & Launch in Amsterdam, Netherlands Apply Now

At Uber, we ignite opportunity by setting the world in motion. We take on big problems to help drivers, riders, delivery partners, and eaters get moving in more than 600 cities around the world.

We welcome people from all backgrounds who seek the opportunity to help build a future where everyone and everything can move independently. If you have the curiosity, passion, and collaborative spirit, work with us, and let’s move the world forward, together.

Note: This role will require travel upwards of 80% of the time, focused on markets across Europe, the Middle East and Africa

About the Role

Operations are the heart of every JUMP system - ensuring bikes are maintained and charged - exactly when and where our customers need them, 24/7/365. Our Launchers will be responsible for creating and building the market's operations from the ground-up. This role requires an ability to be resourceful, an entrepreneurial spirit, and a passion for problem solving. We're looking for someone who's equally analytical and comfortable diving into data as they are to roll up their sleeves and get their hands dirty. The ideal candidate for this role should have strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, excellent time-management and organizational habits, and be ready to lead by example.

What You’ll Do
  • Project manage & prioritize across multiple launches of new JUMP markets across Europe, Middle East and Africa
  • Translate policy priorities & permit requirements into an operational business. You’ll work with the Policy & Market Entry teams to build a successful, scalable business while being compliant, and good partners with the city
  • Create & Optimize Process. We are a new company launching a new product in new environments - we not only need to create and constantly optimize our own processes for this operation, but for the many JUMP systems that are to follow in the near future
  • Build and lead a team. You will be defining hiring needs and leading the hiring process for new operations members. At the same time, you'll be managing a larger team of bicycle mechanics and fleet operators
  • Manage training, scheduling, attendance, and general administration of our field operations team
  • Create a fun, inclusive, and safe work culture. Above all else, you will be responsible to ensure the safety of your team and our riders
  • Problem Solve. All day, every day. We operate a technology platform and capital assets in dynamic urban environments. All kinds of obstacles, barriers, problems, and snags happen on a daily basis and you must be ready to solve them as fast as they happen
  • Balance attention to detail with swift execution - we need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well. Balancing those can be challenging, and this should be a strength
  • Roll up your sleeves and get into the details approach - you'll need to learn how to troubleshoot and fix bikes

What You'll Need

  • A minimum of 4 years of operations management, business consulting, or project management and implementation experience
  • Speed, resourcefulness, leader and go getter attitude. You'll have your fingerprints all over the operations for our new markets and will play a direct role in the launch success
  • Experience with data-based decision-making, exercising good judgement in ambiguous circumstances, and effectively communicating across a diverse team
  • Experience in construction, real estate or warehouse/manufacturing operations a plus
  • Flexibility. Being a launcher at JUMP means you will spend a lot of time on the road, traveling to wherever business needs you on short notice. Having a flexible schedule is key to success in this role
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build relationships, lead a team, manage employees, and create a hard-working but fun workplace
  • Proven to be self-motivated, self-directed, and eager to take ownership of tasks to ensure solution
  • Excellent organization and time management systems for yourself and your employees
  • Clear Communicator. You are a clear and concise communicator with the ability to synthesize a lot of information quickly and highlight the key insights
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass driving history check
  • Language skills, especially Spanish, German, French, Italian and Portuguese are a plus but not required
