As a Sr. Data Analyst for our Global Reverse Logistics organization, your work is used to uncover insights about the operations retail returns and cost reduction opportunities using tools such as Snowflake while evaluating the health and compliance of our customer accounts. Utilizing these insights in helping to drive important strategic decisions. You will join a dynamic and hardworking team and also work with some of the leading global retailers and distributors as well as cross functional internal teams to evaluate data and opportunities to improver retail returns execution and cost reduction.

The Senior Data Analyst oversees and conducts the conversion of data into insights that will lead to informed business decisions. He/she works directly with stakeholders and Fitbit’s management and executives within multiple cross functional departments. The Senior Data Analyst will have to handle multiple simultaneous tasks, prioritize work, and remain functional under pressure, and aggressive timelines.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about analytics and is able to approach complex problems in an organized and detail-oriented manner. You should be an intellectual athlete who has the desire to learn about customer behavior and the important drivers of various departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain company-wide analytics reporting and processes that provide insights to business performance and key company metrics for a fast paced consumer products company
  • Provide regular, timely reporting and performance monitoring to Reverse Logistics, Service, Operations, and Senior Executive Team, and other key business stakeholders
  • Develop data collection processes and appropriate analytical tools, models, and dashboards
  • Work collaboratively with our internal data warehouse and data lake team
  • Synthesize data from various sources including ERP, CRM, and other internal and external systems
  • Meet regularly with sales teams, operational teams, executive management, and key stakeholders to present analysis and actionable recommendations
  • Think creatively to find optimal solutions to our complex, often unstructured problems

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • 3+ years of experience working with SQL and relational data including exposure to complex data models
  • 2+ years of experience working with terabyte-scale data repositories
  • 3+ years of experience with tools commonly used for data analysis such as Python (numpy, pandas, and scikit), R or Spark
  • Strong experience in statistical analysis and modeling
  • Experience working with Excel, ERP and Financial Planning tools
  • Experience with business intelligence tools such as Looker, Tableau, Business Objects, or Microstrategy
  • Familiarity with MPP databases, such as Snowflake, Redshift, Teradata, Vertica, etc.
  • Experience identifying and debugging data problems and anomalies
  • Exposure to automating processes
  • Exposure to building ETL/ELT pipelines

Keys to Success:

  • The Senior Data Analyst proactively plays an analytical role where they are responsible for developing KPIs within the business for the purpose of identifying trends and evaluating the success of the business’s initiatives.
  • The Senior Data Analyst additionally develops models and ad hoc reports, sharing observations and recommendations with senior data management, executives, and stakeholders for further consideration.
  • The role of the Senior Data Analyst is also a highly collaborative role. The Senior Data Analyst works within and across the Fitbit in order to understand the business’s functional and data requirements.
  • They work with cross functional department management in ensuring constant compliance with standards and to effect change where merited.
  • In this collaborative capacity, the Senior Data Analyst works with the Fitbits departmental heads, management, and key stakeholders, in developing detailed business requirements, conducting gap analyses, creating functional designs, and guiding the leadership through analytical data processing when needed.
