Job Description

Mission

This job exists to supplement the US accounting team with more functional experience. The goal is to find someone who can play a multi-dimensional accounting role rather than someone who can perform a singular function i.e. accounts payable.

Outcomes

1. Stronger technical and operational accounting team than we have today
2. Align US purchasing and payables responsibility with the department structure to better support the company-wide purchasing policy
3. Improve the monthly analysis of expenses and accruals to support a public company level of forecasting and financial reporting

Responsibilities

1. Develop and perform accounting and analytical procedures to support internal and external financial reporting and enhance processing efficiencies by leading the design, configuration, and development of subledger systems
2. Perform assigned month end accounting and reporting operations activities within timelines set by the Manager of US Accounting.
3. Support financial audits by preparing PBCs and providing testing documentation
4. Research, identify, and record month end expense accruals working closely with FP&A
5. Prepare financial and analytical presentations to support month end accounting conclusions by review with Finance leadership
6. Perform various financial compliance activities including state and local business tax analysis and returns, 1099 filings, and annual insurance renewal.

Competencies / Requirements

1. Technical accounting skill
2. Operational accounting experience in a growing, SAAS technology business
3. Project management and accounting systems development experience
4. People skills (ability to work cross-functionally)
5. Experience with systems such as Netsuite, Coupa and Expensify preferred
6. Workpaper organization and written communication skills
