SoFi is looking for someone to join our fast-growing Invest team. As SoFi expands its portfolio to realize its vision of becoming an end-to-end financial partner for our members, we are looking for a hands-on, technology proficient, investment professional who can independently operate in a fast-paced environments, and can help develop systems, processes, and solutions to help scale our retail investments business.

The Trading Operations Analyst will support trading operations for SoFi Invest’s retail brokerage (“Active Investing”) and robo-advisor (“Automated Investing”) businesses, as well as SoFi’s overall hedging. Daily responsibilities will include resolving trade breaks, trade bookings and trade confirmations, cash reconciliations, collateral calls and providing trade execution support. You will have daily interaction with the team’s Product Managers, Investment Advisors, Operations Team, and Business Team. You will also take ownership of projects to improve current processes to support the business and trading operations as they scale.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all required operational tasks to support SoFi Invest trading:
    • Resolve trade breaks
    • Collateral calls, trade settlement and trade bookings, P&L reconciliation
    • Valuation and pricing of portfolio
    • Position and cash reconciliation
    • Variation margin movements
    • Corporate actions
    • Swap resets and cash flows
    • Trade execution support
  • Work directly with our product and engineering organizations to improve and scale the existing automated trading platform
  • Build and improve existing trading processes to reduce execution variance, time required, and error rate, enabling us to achieve 10x scale this year with limited incremental resourcing
  • Work with operations and subject matter experts to design, build, and implement systems / processes that account for all user- and trading-related edge cases
  • Keep stakeholders updated on projects and trade offs on increasing/decreasing project scope

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years Experience working as portfolio manager or trader with exposure to Equities, Swaps, Mutual Funds, Options & Futures. Ideally as a part of a retail-facing platform
  • Knowledge of brokerage back-office operations: corporate actions, margin, fractional shares (preferred)
  • Experience with Bloomberg Terminal (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance or Accounting preferred)
  • Series 7 Licensed (preferred)
  • Willing to work market hours (including 60 mins before open)
  • Strong execution and project management skills
  • Ability to both collaborate with the SoFi team while being able to work independently to deliver results
  • Strong process, efficiency, and detail orientation. Experience designing and implementing operational processes / systems a plus
  • Strong quantitative orientation. Hard data / coding skills a plus
