Gusto is a customer-obsessed company, and our UX Research team powers the engine that helps us best understand their needs. We are looking for our first official UX Research Participant Recruiter ! As a founding member of our growing UX Research Team, you’ll help recruit target customers & handle critical post-study follow up for a portion of Gusto’s UX research studies.

You’ll be enabling small business owners & operators to inform Gusto’s product direction, while working with engaged and grateful Product Designers & Product Managers across Gusto’s product areas, and coordinating with other data- and customer-focused teams as needed.

Here’s what you’ll do day-to-day:

[Primary priorities include]

  • Assist with and own parts of the UX Research participant recruiting experience for multiple simultaneous projects, from planning initial outreach to post-study retrospectives. Examples of the key activities involved:
  • Understand target populations to study and identify candidate pools to recruit from
  • Handle scheduling for remote or onsite research sessions, including screening respondents for availability, interest, and other qualifiers
  • Process incentives across a variety of UX research methods
  • Help track results and identify opportunities to improve our tools & processes.

[Secondary priorities include]

  • Assist with processing and organizing notes & recordings resulting from UX Research across ~40 people, by using internal tools & working with vendors;
  • Support internal and external communication opportunities, for example assisting to put on events & activities [ like ] [ these ], for example, to ensure all the rich insights about our target customers are absorbed, shared, and top of mind!

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • 3+ years work experience, preferably as a UXR Participant Recruiter, Office Admin, Project Manager, Production Assistant, or equally relevant role
  • Ability to create a warm, welcoming experience for the participants you interact with
  • High level of attention to detail and an organizational champ
  • Effective communicator, adept at keeping your team in the loop
  • Experience with Google productivity tools
  • Independent, proactive problem-solver who can adapt to changing priorities
  • Demonstrated experience with taking a results-oriented approach
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to compliance and ethical considerations related to participant recruiting

Bonus points for:

  • Experience writing or reading SQL
  • Experience with CRM tools, survey design tools, or other UX research-enabling tools
  • Experience in communication design - e.g. posters, slide decks
  • Experience with video editing
  • Experience in event planning
  • Experience supporting or conducting UX research
