We’re looking for an Engineer to join the team that builds the platform that runs Zumper. You’ll help software engineers deliver faster, better and more reliably. You’ll shape the platform that millions of renters and landlords depend on every month in their apartment-finding.

What You'll Be Doing

• Help drive the infrastructure powering Zumper into the future
• Development and maintenance of cloud-hosted infrastructure running Zumper’s APIs, website and internal tooling
• Design and implementation of new infrastructure solutions
• Ensure smooth adoption of new infrastructure solutions
• Automating processes to improve our team’s productivity and reliability
• Help our engineers instrument our products and platform
• On-call application support

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of experience in software development / DevOps
• Self-motivated do-er of things and solver of problems
• Python
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (EC2, EMR, S3, SQS, SES, etc.)
• Comfortable at a Unix terminal, and at least one scripting language
• Willingness to go above-and-beyond to help your colleagues succeed
• Always looking for new ways to solve problems
• Adaptable to new tools, processes and procedures

Bonus Stuff

• SaltStack or other configuration management system
• HTTP / reverse-proxies (ELB, Nginx, HAProxy, CloudFront, etc.)
• DNS
• Hashicorp tools (Terraform, Consul, Nomad, Vault, etc.)
• Git
