About The Role

Our Operations teams are the heart and soul of Uber. These are the teams that take our global product and localize it to an assigned market, while creating thousands of economic opportunities for drivers, and making transportation cheaper and more accessible for our riders. We are in the midst of incredible growth, which requires hard work. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about what they do and ready to roll up their sleeves to grow and improve their market.

This is a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on your market through continuous improvingt Uber’s platform in CEE. You will work collaboratively with local, regional and global stakeholders to improve the safety of Uber’s platform in the region as well as the way riders can access and use our product.

What You’ll Do

  • Advocate for and support roll-out of all Rider-facing products in CEE (i.e. all products that enhance rider access, experience or engagement), working together with the EMEA Central Operations Rider team and relevant Product (Operations) teams
  • Own driver and rider safety across the region. Work with key stakeholders including CEE Ops and Marketing teams, Country Leads, EMEA Central Safety team, Community Operations, Incident Response Team, Product, Engineering, Communications, Policy and Legal to make Uber safer for our drivers and riders
  • Work to build safety into the office’s culture. Be a passionate advocate for safety, educate the team on its importance and ensure safety is treated as a priority across all functions and factored properly into all relevant decisions
  • Set key Safety KPIs and targets and develop and execute on a plan to monitor and achieve them
  • Work with stakeholders to proactively identify products and processes that will better support Safety KPIs. Advocate for testing and adoption of global safety products not currently in our markets
  • Escalate product, engineering, process and support safety concerns as necessary to relevant stakeholders. Work with stakeholders to rectify concerns
  • Support our Policy, Comms and Legal teams with safety-related data and insights

What You’ll need

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Statistics, Engineering or similar field.
  • Proven experience in Strategy Consulting, Banking, Operations or high-growth start-up, with track record of using data to drive business decisions
  • Direct experience related to safety, transportation and/or product management is a plus
  • Experience working in the Central & Eastern Europe region is a plus
  • Excellent Excel skills, SQL skills preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership of leading initiatives and projects at your organization.
  • Startup (all-hands-on-deck) approach.
