The Global Clinical Program Leader (GCPL) - Neuroimmunology Cell Therapy (NICT) is accountable of all the clinical develoment aspects related to one or more programs of cell and gene therapy in neuroimmunology indications across multiple geographies. The job includes direct people management responsibilities of a group of physicians and/or clinical scientists involved in study-related activities. The GCPL NICT reports directly into the VP of Immunology Cell Therapy and sits in the Immunology Cell Therapy Leadership Team

What You’ll Do

• Represent the clinical development function at Global Project Team (GPT) level
• Accountable for the clinical development strategy and execution within the Clinical Project Team (CPT)
• Coordinate the activities of physicians/clinical scientists involved in the different clinical studies. When needed, performs study oversight activities (Senior Study Physician)
• Provide input to the development strategy from a medical and clinical perspective
• Leads or oversees a diverse range of initiatives to improve quality, integrity of information interpretation, cost or time and where appropriate lead the development of new methodology or process to provide business benefit

Essential Skills/Experience:

• Medical degree
• Professional qualification in Neurology
• Relevant experience in the field multiple sclerosis and
• 7 yrs+ experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech sector (in the absence, significantly longer experience in the academic setting)
• Significant understanding of the overall drug development and commercialisation process
• Demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities, resources, performance targets and project initiatives in a global environment
• Conceptual, analytical and strategic thinking
• Ability to influence strategically and persuade tactfully, to obtain desired outcomes while maintaining effective, positive, organizational relationships

Desirable Skills/Experience:

• PhD in neurology, immunology or cell & gene therapy, or equivalent academic experience/post
• Extensive knowledge of the latest technical and regulatory developments
• Operational expertise in risk management and contingency planning
• Familiarity with the latest research and thinking
• Effective problem and conflict resolution skills and proven team focus
• Excellent knowledge of AstraZeneca/Alexion policies, procedures and guidelines
