This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with Dotdash Meredith. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes. PEOPLE is looking for a writer for its Society & Culture team, to work Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. EST. This person will be responsible for pitching, reporting and writing digital stories. They must also be willing to write and report breaking news and cover related events. Responsibilities & Expectations

• Write 5-7 stories a day, including breaking news and longer features
• Have a vast knowledge of internet culture, TikTok trends and popular influencers
• Ability to time-manage and easily pivot in breaking news situations, turning around clean copy quickly
• Have a deep understanding of the PEOPLE voice and audience and an ability to turn a simple social media post into a buzzy news story
• Experienced interviewer and has a finger on the pulse for finding an original angle on features

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic, detail-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has solid writing skills and discerning news judgment, while still delivering everything clean, sharp and accurate. This person must also be fluent in the digital landscape, including SEO and analytics.
