This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with Dotdash Meredith. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes. Retention Marketer (Contract) The PEOPLE App team is seeking a Retention Marketer (Contract). The Retention Manager will work closely with the VP, Marketing and the PEOPLE App Editorial team to understand the content calendar and select the right content for promotion via email, via push notification, on the PEOPLE homepage, and on PEOPLE’s social channels to increase app engagement, reduce churn, and improve LTV. The ideal Retention Manager candidate loves pop culture content, and has a knack for knowing what will do well, at what time, and in what channel – and is also analytically savvy, able to report on what worked, what didn’t, identifying a “why”, and making strategic recommendations. As such, the Retention Manager will identify topics, formats, channels, and distribution strategies to put the best PEOPLE App content in front of new and existing audiences, driving measurable results. Assignment Details: 40 hours a weekStart date: ASAPEnd date: 3 months with potential to extendHourly Rate: $45Location: New York DDM Office In-office Expectations: This position is NYC-based, with a team in-office 3-days/week. Assignment Responsibilities:
  • Developing and executing the daily email, social, homepage, and push notification content calendar ensuring alignment with brand priorities, trending stories and new launches
  • Work cross-functionally to surface trending stories across platforms
  • Write email, social, and homepage headlines, as well as push notifications
  • Collaborate with Editorial and creative teams to develop calendar based on editorial priorities and data-driven decision making
  • Setup and launch Push and Email campaigns targeted towards the PEOPLE App users
  • Regularly compile reports, share findings and make recommendations
  • Stay on top of the latest push and email trends
80% Deeply understand the PEOPLE App content library, and learn the workflows of the overall PEOPLE operation to secure the right promotion, at the right time, for the right piece of content from the PEOPLE App (and measure success!) 20% Collaborate with the overall PEOPLE team on new workflows, new placements, and new ideasSkills/Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience in retention marketing or content marketing, with a strong passion for content
  • Publishing industry experience, preferably in a fast-paced newsroom
  • Social media experience is a huge plus
  • Experience in cross-channel growth marketing a plus
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Knowledge of content analytics (clicks, sessions, downloads, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail, tracking different placements and different results
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Iterable, Braze and Klavyo a must
  • Previous experience with MMPs such as Appsflyer, Adjust or Kochava desired
  • Experience with photo editing a plus (resizing images for different placements)
  • Self-motivated, ability to multitask
  • A team player ready to work in a fast-paced environment, with a problem-solving mindset
