The GBS team is a centrally managed organization that supports Apple’s four shared service centers worldwide. We are searching for a Senior Accountant to support Latin America statutory accounting team. You will be a member of a team that is responsible for the statutory requirements for the region, specifically to support Apple businesses in Mexico, Chile and Colombia, drive global consistency in systems & processes as well as identifying standardization and simplification opportunities. Our organization is fast paced and dynamic as it needs to support the growth of Apple throughout many industries.
Description
Description In addition to the statutory reporting for Latin America, this position will provide strategic business solutions and process improvements on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate will develop subject matter expertise in local statutory compliance. Core job responsibilities include: - Accounts analysis and reconciliations. - Assist with Colombia’s direct tax, statistical and other compliance deliverables. - Engage with our main partners on project implementations. - Establish and implement consistent and efficient processes across the Mexico, Colombia and Chile entities. - Ensure completion and successful implementation of ad hoc projects, making recommendations as necessary, writing accounting and other requirements to support business operations and geo expansion. - Support local tax audits which will include serving as the auditor contact, providing all data, and reviewing audit work papers and schedules. - Liaise with external & internal advisors, including information requests preparation and review, deadline tracking and timely responses. - Lead and prepare deferred and current income tax provision for US and Local GAAP. - Lead annual deliverables for US GAAP. - Coordinate and build quarterly reports and presentations for US GAAP. - Represent the team during projects and assist with testing system updates and improvements. - Represent the company in government agencies. - Prepare annual Financial Statements. - Coordinate financial audit.
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in IFRS is required, at least 3+ years in the Latin America region.
- Bachelor degree in Accounting with “Tarjeta profesional”.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Solid experience in accounting and ability to reconcile data to the general ledger and filed statutory while working with Tax Compliance, Corporate Accounting, etc, when needed.
- Proficient in Excel.
