ABOUT THE TEAM Basis' Product team guides the innovation and development of our comprehensive tech platform, Basis. This team blends focus, collaboration, and creativity to fulfill our mission in creating a transformative tool that makes work more streamlined and fulfilling for those who power the ad tech industry. Customer experience is at the forefront of this team’s work—and also includes market research, cross-departmental stakeholder collaboration, user testing, communicating feature requests to engineers and designers, monitoring impact of new feature rollouts, measuring returns on product investments, and more. Together, they leverage their diverse industry experience and talent to brainstorm new ideas, iterate on old ones, and create the best possible product for our customers. The Business Intelligence & Data Operations team works on data and reporting solutions using big data from our online programmatic ad-buying and automation platform to solve business problems and support decision-making. They work with a wide variety of groups within Basis including Product Management and Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, Operations, and Services. The team manages all aspects of custom reporting and analytics projects and advises on reporting capabilities available through our technology platform and API. They are responsible for unlocking the vast amount and huge potential of Basis data to drive the company's key metrics and generate actionable insight empowering data-driven decisions.
WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE The Business Intelligence and Data Operations team is the ideal place for someone who thrives on working in a fast-paced growth environment, has a passion for working with data and technology, and is not afraid to take on some of the most complex challenges that Basis has to offer. We are looking for a strategic leader who can combine business acumen, technical and analytical skills to meet and deliver on business intelligence needs across the organization. A successful Director of Business Intelligence will challenge traditional thinking and drive business through data in new ways. You will also contribute by:
- Managing the execution of the company-wide BI roadmap and strategy ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Leading and iterate on the process of how work gets done, actively prioritizing the team's work to balance short term and long term business needs to maximize impact.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into impactful BI solutions.
- Building and manage a high performing BI team by leading, coaching, developing and hiring Business Analysts, Solutions Architects, and Data Analysts.
- Establishing and maintain data governance and quality standards to ensure best-in-class data accuracy and reliability of analysis and reporting.
- Partnering with Data Operations and other tech teams, such as Data Engineering, to build an architecture and process that supports the present and future needs of Basis, acting as a crucial link between stakeholders and technical teams.
- Educating internal clients on how to leverage our data and the KPIs that drive business success.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
- 8+ years of work experience on a team with similar core responsibilities
- 4+ years of experience successfully building and leading high performing BI teams.
- Post-secondary education with a strong analytical component, e.g. statistics, business, social sciences, sciences.
- Strong understanding of data analytics methodologies and tools with experience leveraging data for driving business insights and outcomes.
- Strong knowledge and experience with Relational Databases and SQL, and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau).
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with ability to present and clearly explain insights based on data to non-technical executive audiences
- Experience with the entire development cycle of projects in a fast-paced workplace.
BONUS POINTS
- Knowledge of the digital advertising industry (e.g. AdWords, DSPs, ad-serving).
- Experience working with product analytics tools (e.g. Pendo).
- Familiar with a data analysis programming language such as Python.

$107,000 - $241,000 a year Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual salary is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process. The total compensation package for this position may also include commission or bonus, company equity, and competitive benefits.
