This assignment posting is for an Agency Worker opportunity with Dotdash Meredith. The Agency Worker is paid by a staffing agency employer. Agency Workers will receive a W2 from the staffing agency reporting their earnings for tax purposes.Dotdash Meredith is looking for a writer with a strong editorial background and a good grasp of SEO best practices. In this contract, remote role, you’ll work closely with our editorial and growth teams to provide smart guidance to editors working on new, trending, and existing evergreen articles.Assignment Responsibilities: We are looking for Updates Strategists who can commit to at least 10 hours of work per week. The rate of pay for this role is $25-$30/hour. Applicants must live in the United States.

• Analyzing keywords and competitors to create well-sourced content brief outlines with SEO and editorial best practices in mind.
• Maintaining strong relationships and daily communication with editorial and SEO staff, and freelance writers.

Skills/Experience:

• 2+ years of experience writing or editing finance and/or business content (ideally consumer-friendly, service journalism articles)
• Understand SEO best practices and have a strong editorial instinct and confidence around what makes an article successful
• Pro at competitive research—and love doing it
• SEMrush or Ahrefs experience a plus
• Detail-oriented, deadline-focused, and independent worker
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus
• Relevant professional certifications (CFA, CFP, CPA, CMT) also a plus
