We're looking for a Software Engineer III / Associate Technical Director to join our LOC Engineering, Games-Tech Team. This team is responsible for the development and maintenance of tools or game technology to allow the localization and internationalization of games to 20 languages or more, working closely with some of the best Game Studios in the industry, like EA Sports, DICE, Respawn, Bioware, Codemasters, Criterion and so many others.

What are you going to do as a SE/Assoc TD here at EA

Your primary focus will be code quality, performance, extensibility and testability. You will be leading and mentoring other engineers, while working with product owners and stakeholders to design and develop tools or in-game code packages, translating requirements and prototypes into technical solutions using C++, C# or others. You might also help maintaining or refactoring legacy code, design the architecture of new software packages or improve our technology base and documentation.

You will be a part of the Localization Engineering, Games-Tech Team and report to its Technical Director.

The next great Software Engineer also needs:

  • University Degree (BSc) in Software Engineering or equivalent academic background
  • 8+ years of professional experience designing and developing AAA games or equivalent, complex software solutions.
  • Highly skilled in C++ AND C# development, with a special focus on performance and code quality
  • Passion for developing, mentoring and leading others. People management experience is also a big plus
  • Experience with Unity, Unreal Engine or Frostbite is a big plus
  • Experience with unit testing and with version control systems (Perforce, Git)
  • Passion for writing clean code and OOP
  • Strong debugging skills and fluent in reading complex code
  • Experience in Agile environments is a big plus (Scrum, Kanban)
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken)
  • Strong teamwork spirit.
  • Passion for solving complex and interesting problems
