Job Description

Job Title: Product Manager
Location: Kazakhstan, Almaty city

About the role:

  • The Product Manager shall be recruited, transferred to another position, and dismissed in accordance with the applicable regulations of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the Republic of Kazakhstan).
  • The Product Manager shall be appointed and removed by the order of an authorized person of Takeda Kazakhstan LLP (hereinafter referred to as the Company), as and when stipulated by the applicable labor laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
  • The Product Manager shall report directly to the Business Unit Manager.
  • The main tasks of the Product Manager shall be to develop and implement a product development strategy.
  • The Product Manager shall perform his/her duties in compliance with the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Company's Articles of Association, resolutions made by the Company's authorized bodies, orders, instructions, this Job Description and other internal regulations of the Company.
  • The Product Manager shall cooperate with all business units of the Company.
  • During the absence of the Product Manager (due to his/her vacation, sickness, business trip, etc.), his/her official duties, as set out in this Job Description, shall be performed by the Business Unit Manager or, in the absence of the latter, by a duly appointed person, provided that such a person acquires the relevant rights, assume the relevant obligations and bears responsibility for the performance of such duties assigned.

How you will contribute:

1) RESPONSIBILITIES

The Product Manager shall:

  • study and analyze markets by products within the area of his/her responsibility (competitive analysis, market capacity, disease statistics, etc.);
  • develop and support a product development strategy within the area of his/her responsibility;
  • develop and implement a tactical work plan in line with the selected product development strategy and in accordance with the Company's brand strategy, on an annual basis, analyze the efficiency of the tactical work plan and provide a report to the immediate manager;
  • develop promotional and non-promotional materials for products;
  • set a budget for product promotion costs;
  • communicate with opinion leaders;
  • provide training for customer service managers and analyze the efficiency of such training;
  • plan, organize, and analyze the efficiency of the measures taken and provide a report on the results to the immediate manager;
  • participate in the development of the production plan and assess the availability of pharmaceuticals in warehouses, with the anticipated demand being taken into account;
  • conduct a quarterly sales analysis;
  • take part in corporate trainings, meetings, and conferences for the purpose of professional growth and improvement of performance efficiency;
  • act in strict adherence to the Company's internal regulations, orders, instructions, and resolutions made by the management and authorized bodies of the Company;
  • comply with safety and fire safety regulations;
  • not disclose information constituting an official and/or trade secret, or any other secret protected by law;
  • keep the material assets and information materials entrusted to the Product Manager in good and proper condition, and prevent the infliction of property damage to the Company in the course of his/her employment;
  • ensure the continuous monitoring of the safety of the Company's pharmaceuticals.
  • The Product Manager acknowledges that this Job Description shall serve as a reference and that he/she may be given or assigned, in the course of his/her employment, any other marketing-specific instructions, tasks or responsibilities, not listed in this Job Description. In view of the foregoing, the Product Manager shall perform, as and when instructed by the Business Unit Manager, any official duties or any tasks assigned, as may be stipulated by the qualification requirements for any other positions, similar in nature of responsibilities, and equal in complexity, provided that such duties and tasks do not require another specialization, qualification or change in job title.

2)RIGHTS

The P roduct Manager shall have the right to:

  • submit any proposals/comments to the management on any matters reserved to the Pharmaceutical Manager;
  • request any information and documents, as may be required for the performance of any tasks assigned;
  • be provided with working conditions enabling the Product Manager to perform his/her duties;
  • enhance his/her qualification through training;
  • communicate with the Company's business units or any other entities on any matters regarding the functioning of the unit, as may be reserved to the Product Manager, based on the relevant authorizing documents;
  • exercise any other rights provided for by the employment contract and the laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

3) LIABILITY

The Product Manager shall be held liable for:

  • non-performance or improper performance of his/her official duties as outlined in this Job Description, in accordance with the labor laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • non-compliance with the Company's internal regulations, orders, instructions given by the Company's authorized bodies or recommendations made by the Company's management in relation to the responsibilities assigned to the Product Manager;
  • improper document management within the business unit;
  • provision of inaccurate information or data, or untimely receipt of information or data, as may be required for the timely, proper and high-quality performance of official duties and responsibilities assigned to the Product Manager, from the Company's employees, officials business units;
  • disclosure of proprietary information or use of such information for personal purposes;
  • dissemination and/or support of any rumors or any other information undermining and/or affecting the image, authority and/or degrading the personality and/or dignity and/or professional qualities or competence of the Company's employees or the Company as a whole;
  • failure to comply with ethical standards in relation to the Company's employees and/or the Company as a whole;
  • failure to comply with fire safety or industrial sanitation requirements, labor discipline, internal labor regulations, safety rules or information security practices;
  • any violations committed in the course of his/her employment within the limits established by the applicable administrative, criminal and civil laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • infliction of material damage to the Company, as and when prescribed by the labor laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan, or disclosure of any trade, official and/or any other secret protected by law, as may be established by the applicable laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan and/or internal regulations of the Company.

What you bring to Takeda:

1) A person having a higher education and work experience in a similar position for at least one year, being familiar with all areas of this function and mastering at least Intermediate English shall be appointed to the position of Product Manager.

2) The Product Manager shall be aware of:

External and internal regulations governing the Company's activities:

  • Code on Public Health and Healthcare System of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on advertising and promotion of medicines;
  • Code of Ethics of the Association of International Pharmaceutical Manufacturers in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • Fundamentals of marketing, corporate management, and corporate finance;
  • Sales system development methods;
  • Rules for visiting a doctor/pharmacist;
  • Negotiation techniques;
  • Labor safety rules and regulations.
