Akamai's Cloud Technology Group's Compute division, formerly Linode, and now Akamai's Connected Cloud (ACC), consists of collaborative, inclusive, and creative teams. We design, develop, test and maintain products that run on our IaaS platform.

Shape the future of our managed Kubernetes products

With your expertise in Kubernetes and Cloud-Native technologies, you will help design and build the next-generation platform (a "Golden Path" cloud-native platform) on which new products and services will be built. This platform will be used to bring new products and services to market faster by simplifying their performance, reliability, security, and operational needs.

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

• Contributing to the development of a Golden Path reference platform built on Kubernetes and other cloud-native technologies
• Contributing towards building the roadmap for enterprise features expected from a product platform
• Creating and integrating cloud-native technologies and architectures
• Developing best practices, knowledge sharing, and mentoring
• Collaborating with engineering teams in an Agile environment
• Working in an environment that fosters innovative solutions, rapid development cycles, and open communication

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• Have experience building and operating highly available, fault-tolerant, and scalable production services using Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies
• Have experience and solid understanding of containers as well as the technologies that revolve around it
• Be knowledgeable of the Go programming language and comfortable leveraging Python or Bash for scripting needs
• Be familiar using infrastructure as code tools like Crossplane, Pulumi, Terraform or Ansible
• Possess understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, HTTP) and knowledge of Linux based operating systems
• Have experience leveraging CI/CD tools to achieve good software development practices
